That title is among the worst ever in ClutchFans history. I was lucky enough to fly Air New Zealand and caught this pre-flight video: Adams might be the most famous person alive in New Zealand and same might be said for Alpi for Turkey. Yao is it for China, Hakeem for Nigeria, and DMo for grocery store candy isles. Basically the Rockets are where you go to become the most famous person in your country.
Not gonna lie, Adams wouldn't be in my top 5 most famous Kiwis alive.... In no order, here are five (off the top of my head) Russell Crowe Lorde Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings director) Sam Neill Just sporting figures Jonah Lomu Dan Carter Jane Williamson Lydia Ko I guess Big Steve-O is honourable mention - and I accept I am tapping into a minor detail and not appreciating his acting skills! Sorry bout that..
New Zealander here (well, I grew up in Channelview, but here since 2002)- I can confirm that Adams has a 100% approval rating here and Air New Zealand is a good airline. I think only one of these confirnations is relevant to Clutchfans...
i thought flight of the conchords is like jesus status there. they're the best rap group to ever come out of those islands
As far as I am concerned, NZ and its people are perfect. The South Island and Milford track hike might be the prettiest place on earth.
How quickly Boban is forgotten. ;( That said, love me some Steven Adams. Glad he's ours. One of those likeable players that makes it easy (for others?) to root for the team. And I think Alien Weaponry belongs on the NZ love list?
most famous where? Alpi would not make top 100 in Turkey and top 20 in Europe. In the USA it is hard to tell, maybe he is top 5.
Excuse me, but where did the people of Atlantis and New Sea-land learn to speak English so beautifully :stares:
Peter Jackson or Sam Neill might have something to say about that. Then there's actors like Curtis Cliff and Director Producer Taiki Waititi. Basketball isn't that big in New Zealand.
A certain Greek also frequently shows up on Aegean Airline safety vids... Cleverly disguised trade for Giannis thread!?
Lol, as a kiwi myself I had to question my sporting knowledge when I saw "Jane Williamson" Then I realised you meant Kane Williamson!
