If Meyers doesn't return, then CF becomes the weakest area of this team. If he does return, then its the 2B/LF position that Altuve is not occupying. However, Dubon at 2B especially when Framber or Brown start and/or vs a lefty starter is perfectly solid. Similarly, if Altuve is at 2B, then Dubon is not a disaster in CF, especially vs a lefty starter. The problem is that the team needs to bring in a bat in order for the run production to absorb Dubon starting. He is fine ANYWHERE if he is the 9th best hitter in the lineup but not if he is thev7th or 8th best. That is why I feel a bat is more of a priority over a starting pitcher.
Nice post. They may really like Arrighetti. In order for the Astros to give him up though, they need to be very confident in Javier and Garcia. Still, I would do it because adding Duran helps this team way more than losing Arrighetti hurts it. Pena Paredes Yordan Altuve Duran Smith Diaz Walker Is a hell of a foundation to a good offense. If Duran can play some CF and Meyers/Dubon can share that #9 spot for 2 more years I'm very happy.
