Reed probably won't ever live up to his draft position, but I do believe in him as a viable NBA player. He's not Steve Nash, but he's not going to be a complete bust either.
As of today, no. He looks almost unplayable for a contender. I'm fine with giving him opportunity, (we picked him #3 we have to)... and If he gets better, I'll start believing. But if he doesn't get better, I won't.
Ill know more when the season starts and he actually has the chance to play a bit more. I'm not going to give up on him this early.
Not sure what to vote here, I believe he will be a useful nba player but I certainly don’t think he’ll ever even be close to an all star. Maybe a starter or maybe a bench player. Does that mean I believe in him or I don’t?
I know he'll be a really great player before he's 24. I'm sure he'll be ready to give us 15-20 good minutes by halfway into the season. I'm sure you can't leave him open as a catch and shoot player while Amen/KD/Sengun run the offense. If Udoka miraculously allows a negative defender to play for once, I won't be mad because we desperately need every ounce of shooting. I'm slightly disappointed at his muscle gain and his ball handling right now. Inject this boy with steroids please. I'm very worried about our backcourt depth this coming season. Durant, Tari and Jabari cannot guard fast guards. We may have to over-play Amen and FVV which worries me. It's also pushing Amen into a utility player role with no energy for offense, which I don't like.
I've seen enough from the OKC game last season to believe. I wanted him to use the summer league to put all doubters to bed and his didn't do that. But the summer league team was so awful it's hard for me to know what was him and what was the coaching and the rest of the team.
When we drafted Reed, I felt it was a colossal mistake. While I know many still believe that, I changed my mind watching him as the season went on. Yeah, he can play off ball, but ultimately, the kid's going to be even better with the ball in his hands. I'm not concerned in the least.
Sometimes you need to bully your bullies all the way to a championship. I wonder if he has that in him?
Reed Sheppard is currently a role player. He can shoot and be a secondary ball handler/connector, but he isn't an offensive engine. Hopefully he keeps improving and can become a "Core" piece. He isn't a James Harden or CP3 level orchestrator at age 20/21. Maybe he becomes FVV+ by age 25/26.
I believe in Reed but not how most of you think of him. I think if he plays an off ball shooting role, utilized like a klay, korver, reddick type we'll see his value. If hes in a ball handling role, we wont see his maximum value this year.
Once he gets a few years under his belt, he be like the next gen kirk Hinrich. Im not expecting him to be a star now But you never do know, Nash didnt get much playing time till he was traded to the mavs his 3rd year, and it took him 2 years there to get where he was going to be, and the suns came crawling back lol
Not gonna lie, I'm worried right now. I'm still hopeful, but the SL games did little to ease my concerns with his strength, handle, quickness and conditioning. I do give some credence to the concerns about the quality of his teammates. He's going to get another chance this season. We'll see what he makes of it.
In 2k he works really well as a spot SG, while he takes rep runs with Holiday. Some times letting him bring the ball up but passing back to Holiday either him or Holiday setup the offense. But As a spot up shooting guard not bad. He just not really ready yet to set up the offense. I think he good for about 14-22 a night as backup SG to Amen.
