I think this has more to do with derek carr retiring. People waiting to see if tyler shough gets fully guarenteed since he will be a starting QB.

Considering he was pick #55 (the 23rd pick in the round), it's possible all 30 2nd rounders will now hold out. Nick really stirred up some mess. At this point, I doubt the full guarantee goes past Higgins because these players have no leverage.

If the offensive line is competent, then the team should be off to the races. If not, the coaches will start trying different schemes and different players. If it can't be fixed then CJ will be running a lot which is not the plan.
It's always kind of funny to me when they tack on an extra $400k to these contracts so they can say "highest paid CB in the league". I know $100k a year is not nothing, but if you're making $30MM a year, it kind of is.
