It's like watching a remake of "Soul Man", the basketball scene. We have a bunch of brothers who are actually a bunch of disguised dorky white boys who can't play.
For all intents and purposes this is Reed's rookie season. Sometimes you need to play through mistakes. I still think if he can hit 40% of his 3s on any type of volume it makes up for what will probably be a high turnover season.
I understand that the competition level and the quality takes a massive leap. That being said it’s going to be a lot better when he is the ninth best player on the team and feeding off of the gravity that will be created by the players around him. I vote that we give him a couple years before we freak out. I would prefer he play a couple more summer league games.
if Jalen Green went 10-25 in a SL game as a 2nd year player, he would’ve been getting absolutely sh*tted on
Rockets probably shouldn't even bother fielding a summer league team in 2026 since they wouldn't have any draft picks for two consecutive years.
That’s the bias. Both shot poorly but one is demonized while the other one is forgiven and given grace. And these people use the same justification that those who supported Green used (they were guarding him tight, they kept grabbing him etc) Green was inconsistent and if we can see that but intentionally blind to Reed’s deficiencies then it’s bias and hypocritical.
lol that is not true at all. If anything Jof beleived that was his biggest hurdle to reaching superstar status was his shot efficiency.
In Reed's defense he's not playing with a Sengun on his summer league team... or a Jabari Smith Jr/Tari Eason...
Well, one good thing about Reed in this game was that he had gravity. Other than that, he sucked. I think this is two years in a row that Detroit has mauled him.
that’s not much of a defense he’s a 4th overall pick and has already been in the league for a year he has a leg up on all these no-name non-NBA caliber scrubs he’s playing against
