I don't remember Jeenathan passing once. It was always brick or turnover every time he had the ball. I really hope Stone waives his contract before the guaranteed date. Their are a lot of useful players that can be had with the vet min and his roster spot.
Depends on what kind of training you’re referring to. He did a lot of core and balance/stability work. Body types are different and some people can’t bulk up as much as others or want to since you may lose speed and agility. He did gain 8-10 pounds since rookie year. It took a while for Curry to bulk up and Iverson never really did.
I wouldn’t call them complete scrubs, but there was definitely a pick up when the bench played vs the starters. I mean Devin Booker came off the bench for Cal too… so take from that what you will. Reed and Rob were the most fun to watch on that team offensively. Sometimes there was great defense from them as well but it sometimes, depending on the opponent, a little suspect.
The guys who started over Reed and Rob had no business starting over them, that's really all I was getting at. The coach got run out of town over that decision.
Him leaving was coming for a few years - if they had made it to the final four, Cal might have survived one more year. Harris looking more consistent in the first few minutes today, Reed struggling again a bit to start the game.
he makes enough smart plays to where I see it. Not particularly worried about his development. I do think that he seemed to get a little bit fatigued today and there were some bad decisions. this guy is very young and currently at an athletic disadvantage. That being said, he is a very smart player and over the next couple years as he gets stronger and acclimated he is going to be just fine. if we have to supplement the roster with a scoring guard for the bench in the middle of the year because he isn’t quite there that will not be the end of the world.
When young guys who were drafted high play well in SL games I usually don’t get excited but when they struggle in multiple games it is kinda concerning. It looks kinda dumb that we passed on Castle everyday especially now that Jalen and Cam aren’t here. I’m not in love with Sheppards player type. KD was right if short PGs can’t be game changing or bull dogs they will struggle to impact winning and will usually hold the team back. I get the Rockets SL roster is absolutely trash and all the attention was on Reed but he has to be better if he wants to play a meaningful role next season. Stone and Ime aren’t playing around anymore with KD on board.
I think it’s incredibly dumb to give players 10 fouls in a 40 minute game. It creates an atmosphere and situations where there are too many fouls not called. If you have a player that is the sole focus of the defense and what I watched was Sheppard getting essentially mauled sometimes with no calls. Hopefully he plays more efficient with better players around him.
Yeah if Reed flops then never again want us to take a flyer on a midget. I wanted him SOLELY because he was the best shooter and that’s what we needed. We might look back at taking Reed as a serious mistake, with hindsight being 20/20.
You thought he struggled in game 1? Today it seemed the physicality got to him and took him out of his game. The problem with Reed is that he's the ultimate team player and he's playing on the most garbage team so he's forcing up shots he would never normally take. Put him next to KD Amen Sengun and Jabari and he will flourish.
I'm worried about his defensive habits. His intensity and defensive stance is not there too often. Don't be fooled by his steals and deflections, he's constantly reaching and losing his man. And he looks too often lackadaisical. On one hand, worrying if we consider that's been a point of emphasys in his development, and shows no improvement. On the other hand, won't have that much offensive responsability on the first team. Good news is that he shows he can actually defend when he puts the proper focus and intensity. But habits are really bad. Hoepfully Udoka yelling in his face wake him up.
I could see the talent with Reed but I don’t think he’ll be the player Ime needs or wants ho to be. His game is all about team organization. That’s not really conducive to/with Ime’s offensive system(or whatnot). similar to Cam, I could see him not being able to succeed here in Houston. And jsut like Cam and other young core players in Hosuton, I could see him being more successful ina different situation. It’s not about skill or talent but I this situation in Houston it’s about fit and what Ime wants you to be able to do. I’m team youth development but with the trad ego Kd, at this point I rather Stone just final in since the objective is championship when yo make the move for Kd. Go get that second star(Giannis or someone of that caliber). I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see, successfully, Reed making that leap into Ime’s rotation this year. Ime will give him the chance but I don’t think he’ll prove himself enough to maintain that spot inthe rotation
