You'd rather have DLo... Man how are you getting worse over the years at evaluating team needs and players? Insane.

    Thank god we have Ime

Dlo is worse than FVV and the money spent of FVV could not be used on DLo.

Getting a PG instead of DFS has nothing to do with using money on FVV on someone else. Change it up however you want, the Rockets couldn't use the Early Bird rights on FVV on someone else. For all intents and purposes (Tilman loses some money, especially next year), FVV is free. If you see FVV as postive value which you have said, you should have wanted FVV back. Only thing is, it does not fit your narrative.

DLo can dribble, can create and can shoot.....he is better than FVV...IMHO.

Probably save Tillman from Lux tax and the inevitable repeater tax for another year.....

He has an agenda. Though DFS doesn’t do much for me either. Too much PJ Tucker, Battier, Ariza like and not enough Artest, Horry or Elie like.

I’m concerned a little about our ability to penetrate, but I do not giving up Fred for DLo addresses that.

    I think it’s something like this…..

Amen Is effective at getting to the rim and will probably be given the greenlight to do so a lot.

Much of the offense will be run by Sengun or Durant in the mid post.

And I’m thinking we isolate Smith a lot more for jump shots, and maybe he even adds a little bit at going to the rim.

I was definitely thinking about this today and it surely would’ve been lovely to take Whitmore and maybe another asset and get somebody like Jaden Ivy. That being said, we can address this as we see how everything shakes out.

I think that almost every player is going to look a little bit better at getting to the rim because the spacing should be improved.

Yes, my agenda is to be able to SCORE the ball - you know the objective of the game!!!

That is my agenda - we have no one outside of Amen (Who isn't there yet) who can beat his man consistently on the dribble.

You want to beat the Rockets? Pressure the ball.....

FVV can handle pressure like the best of them so you’re being disingenuous.

No he can't he struggles against pressure, can't finish at the rim and can't get by his man, he HAS to have a good screen to clear space.....FVV is a mid tier PG at best - he is ok, just not good.......

But, this is just my opinion, I don't follow the crowd - more about what I like to see - offense/balance over defense only.

Guys, he doesn’t follow the crowd and he sees things that other people don’t see. Don’t you get it?

DD is Clutch Fans GOAT of bad talent evaluators. He was the last guy picked at any sport in PE class. He goes full Broke Back Mountain and can't quit his man crushes.......

Well not everything but some things - what is wrong with that? Having a different opinion?

I mean I never wanted Jalen Green - wanted Mobley - don't have to be a follower - can have original thoughts.

Youve always seemed to look for the home run evaluation which leads to tons of bad ones.

Saying DLo is better than FVV is crazy.

JJ Reddick literally losing his mind over DLo's low bball IQ and loser mentality.

FVV plays tough defense, tries hard every play and those times he has to do heroics is actually Ime's fault for letting him cook. Now we have KD FVV can focus on being the distributor, defender and just spotting up for 3.

That's only looking at one side of the ball. Fvv doesn't turn it over and is light years better than DLO at playing defense. There is a reason Fred has a championship and DLo gets passed around the league like a kardashian.

Fred was a decent player on Toronto, a sometimes starter, I get that Ime loves him and he is a steady hand, I don’t think he is good enough anymore to lead a championship team.

He's like our 5th best player. So yes we can win a ring with Fred as our fifth best player. No one is asking Fred to carry us to a title...

KD Sengun Amen are leading us to title. Fred is just along for the ride.and there is just no version of Deangelo Russell that can lead a team to a title, which is why he can't ever stick with 1 team. Flawed player.

I don't understand this statement. We are deep into the luxury tax thus far and very close to the 1st apron. I guess there is always the scenario that the Rockets try to get under the LT this year, but it's not looking likely.

I don’t think your criticism is unique or “not following the crowd”. There are plenty of FVV detractors on this board including myself. I thought paying him more than 14.1 was unnecessary, but after I saw the contract I was relieved. I also think a lot of it had to do with saving one substantial contract for trade purposes and think 25m is not a back breaker. Ime’s use of FVV is more the concern. If he will play him off ball once he gets across the mid-court we are fine. He is a good spot up shooter and should be used in the offense in that capacity. If Ime commits to this, we can compete for a championship even with FVV as a starter. The only other weakness I see in Stone’s plan is the lack of Reed insurance. I hope they are reading the tea leaves correctly concerning Reed’s contribution this year, because Holiday should not be in the rotation.
