From the little time I watched yesterday's game...these fringe guys need to realize what they can show the most to impress coaches is their ability to defend, pass, and shoot effectively. Trying to blindly go 1 on 1, attack the basket then missing or turning over the ball dont do sht. When Reed passes the ball cross court to you and you're open, shoot the damn ball quickly or get a good finish. Stop trying to dribble the ball off your feet.

I'm fairly sure Cam Mathews is an exhibit10, not a 2way
And also fairly sure Dante signed a 1 year 2way for last year that has since expired.

We might well sign these guys to 2ways, but as it stands I think only Kevon Harris is currently actually signed to a 2way

Sheppard looked good despite the crappy team he's playing with. Really disappointed that Dante didn't look better, I thought he showed some promise last year. Williams is not an NBA player, he should look into a career overseas and that may be a stretch--there is always real estate or insurance.

BTW, I'm not as concerned with Reed's efficiency in GM 1 of SL. I wanted to see him shoot a variety of shots and he did that pretty well. He ignited a couple of easy fast break baskets with his outlet passing, love to see that working. His range looks good and he showed layups with both hands, floater, and a turn around J--nice repertoire. He led the team in rebs and tied in assist (should have had 3-4 more).

On defense, Reed played hard and had 7 stocks in 33 mins, that was impactful. Not a finished product, but you can tell he put in work on defense this OS.

As for the rest, I'd rather give Kennedy Chandler or Samuels 2-ways than Kevon Harris. Chandler is tiny, but at least he looks like he can play and didn't embarrass himself. Samuels just plays the right way and though his shot is ugly he makes it.

    Dylan Harper looks small.

I think important to point out that teams can just waive two way guys and sign other guys to take their spot whenever they want. It doesn’t affect the salary cap. Trivial cash outlays.

The only reason they wouldn’t is for relationship reasons; when they commit to a young guy by signing him to the two way contract they want to give them a certain amount of opportunity.

Dante and Williams have had their year of opportunity. Harris is 28 and been passed around.

We could literally have three totally new two way guys and a new 14th roster spot guy in a month. Nothing stopping us.

Watching Mavs vs Spurs, it's pretty clear Flagg is going to be a monster player one day, Harper? Well, it's not as clear, but he should be solid.

Doesn't the next big thing go to that Mormon college? That'll be the next big fix I'm sure.

Tre Johnson looked good. Hes going to be a problem offensively. If we didnt get durant, trading jalen, 10 and Cam to the wizards wouldve been sweet.

It doesn't look like Carter Bryant is an NBA caliber player even a full year now after he was drafted. He's still very young, but I feel like he better start practicing Chinese.

The only criticism I'll offer on Reed is that when he gets boxed out by a larger player he tends to accept it to easily. Move your feet and get around that big fella. At least make him move some too.

What does mcveigh contribute to a team besides 3 pt shooting which is even questionable considering he couldn’t even do that in the minutes he played last year.

He missed several wide open layups and rushed a few shots trying to do too much 4/10 from 2. Also 2-4 FT.

I would say mixed results. 3 pt shot seems to be better with more confidence. Driving more aggressively. I still would like to see less gambling on defense and finishing touch around the rim.

Disagree. Interesting to see Dante’s progression. Also want to see more what Chandler can do. Harris and Osobar are intriguing prospects and need more performances from them to evaluate

As reported, Jackson and the coaching staff want to see growth and progression. They want to see if they can play him in this rotation with minimal mistakes. This was the reasoning they gave for shipping Cam since the margin of error and mistakes the team is willing to accept is low. He’s definitely improved but its about continuity and progression and likely he runs with this group the full SL.
