Chet is not a star or superstar, they're banking in him becoming one especially since he missed an entire season. I think they could've waited especially with the amount of team who actually have money.
He is not going to, not in this setting, remember Chris Bosh..... He was a borderline All Star, glorified super role player next to Wade and Bron Bron. The realistic and ideal path for a 3rd option is to play elite Defense and provide 19/20 ppg which does not disrupt chemistry and upset both the 1st and 2nd Option.
What I just said, the third guy always gets the short end of the stick.....and mostly bigs .....but they are more than compensated in money. Like a 3rd Wheel. The Sixers rather have Embiid as their 1st Option which did not yield much Success.
I don't think the money is the most important part but the years, if he gets injured or sucks, they can cut ties easily with fewer years. Big men are getting paid in this league regardless. But yeah I like him so I would not have had any problems paying him.....
Im not sure the population that thinks Alpy can be a #1 is all that big. I think there are a few things about Alpy that ring true: - He was the teams best player last year (and the year before). - He probably won't be a superstar, just a multi time All Star. - He's improved massively on the defensive end. - His touch around the rim needs work. Im not even sure what camp I'm in when it comes to his 3 point shot. Some people want him to work on it, others say dont worry about it at all. Can he get it to Jokic level? His offense was a bit of a hodge podge last year as a result of trying too much outside shots inside shots and whatever else.
My Man Antekounmpo was on the IShow Speed Show...... https://brobible.com/sports/article/giannis-milwaukee-update-ishowspeed-stream/
I'd settle for rookie Matt Maloney #s and be happy this year - 40% from 3 and 9 points/4 assists. Anything more is a bonus.
Yikes. There's still idiots spouting this even though there was an avalanche of evidence to disprove this last season?
What is the "avalanche of evidence"? I've seen a bunch of lineup based stats quoted but that's all. Hopefully, that's not what you're referring to. Our defense is schemed to prevent Alpie from being on the ball and allowing him to roam and help out. Udoka has flat out said that we are hiding him by cross matching and having our wings play opposing bigs. You don't hide good defenders. Alpie defends centers less than any other starting center in the league ( 35.8% of the time). Take a look at the 20 players which Sengun guarded the most last year. Not really a bunch of offensively skilled players in the group. Udoka has done a great job of preventing teams from picking on Sengun defensively, but that doesn't make him a great defender.
Imagine asking what's the evidence, and then the only reference you make is lineup stats. Are you being blatantly obtuse ignoring all those other stats? Or... are you actually serious? Because they've been posted the entire season. I genuinely don't know what one is worse.
Have you even watched a Houston Rockets game this season? The fact you've said this, really makes me think you haven't.
As the #3 pick, we need a hard enough push to the point he's splitting time with FVV. I need that Smith v. Cassel dynamic
He has a new baby incoming and I am pretty sure his waifu wants to stay in Wisconsin as well......the longer this state continues to exist, the more likelier he is staying..... He is dragging this out, I think there is a part of him that wants to explore other markets, now I still think the family part will have 50% say of what is going on. This is not a normal 'I want out', rather a huge uproot of your life for him.......so could take months or years even. The media will harping every opportunity they get but in the end it is a non situation ......unless the Bucks pull the plug so to speak and demand a firm situation, if they play it diplomatically, they can keep him for a year or two though. Similar thing with streaming, 'I want to stream but my family takes up a lot of my free time.....'
Furthermore, he knows that he has a Player Option in 2 years.....he can go then...does he want to help the Bucks get a haul for himself or does he just leave. He would be 33 by then but yeah. Giannis threatens the Bucks almost every year with this passive aggressive remarks but then goes back being a coward....it has been known.
Where did you hear his wife is wanting to stay in Wisconsin? For whatever it's worth, she's from California and went to college at Rice in Houston
