I'd agree with you if Reed hadn't already gone down to the G-League last year and dominated against similar professionals, McDonald's All Americans, former NBA players, and NCAA first teamers in his cameo there. And the G-League is a clear step up from Summer League play. The gap in talent/performance might be extremely small between professionals, but it clearly matters a ton, and I refuse to believe that these guys can't also see it/feel it while they're practicing or playing, considering how honed in they are on every minute detail.
That’s a good point. He did play well in g league. But seeing and acknowledging someone for their accomplishments is different than “looking up” to someone. That term/phrase is silly to me in this context. If Reed was my brother I would say the same. “You haven’t done shi+. Don’t get a big head. You aint shi+ yet. Keep working and honing your skills. Nothing is given. Keep your head up. Don’t give up.”
That’s my mentality as well. I have a feeling he has the same keep your head down and work type mentality.
