Anybody in the market for a car is going to wish they bought one sooner. You're going to be lighter in the wallet when the tariffs hit unless Trump is just blowing smoke. I read dealers are raising prices on current inventories because they will expect increased demand in the coming days for pre-tariff cars.

Those finance people are the tow truck version of the business. My cousin worked at one and he said the loaners/finance guys would blow money at stripper joints and cocaine

It's a fox body. They've been making them hook for 35 years. It also probably weighs 2500 pounds.

Went to look at a 21 Sentra for 15K for my kid. It was gone but they had another one for 17K. Sales guy comes back from the ivory tower with an offer of 27.9K out the door. Tells me everyone has to pay tax title license..... Wife tells they guy we are going to go have lunch cause she doesn't want us to get hangry on the guy. He pleads for us to wait so he can see if he can get a better deal, he comes back at 18K out the door... If I had the patience to shop around further I would have.

Adding 4K for an Apex after market tracking device that the Nissan app gives you anyway plus a bunch of other add ons.

The wife's Lexus was a much smoother experience even if they would only negotiate 2K off. I walked by the sales office and they were at 302 cars sold for Jan. so I dont think they were hurting.

Having 4 kids is tuff. Vast majority of houses and cars just aren't built for that size of a family. Entry level for 3 rows is 40k OTD.

Just get a minivan and be done with it. They're still expensive, but pretty nice and comfortable.

Let’s face it: most of us just buy a random car.

Dealerships can fk all the way off and get out of the communities.

I like competition, but honestly, they're just the middle man, adding more cost to the process. I don't like Tesla but this is the right move. I wish we could all go straight to the vehicle makers and have them compete, but most likely they would just collude to keep prices inflated.

I want to look at and sit in a vehicle before I buy it. Maybe even drive it a bit. Dealerships are good for that.

Options are good to have, let the market decide, we should all be able to choose our preferred purchasing method. Just don't try to block direct to customer is all I would like.

    Totally agreed.

"Right to Repair" was another huge one that maybe (I think?) has been fixed.

eta: I will say that anyone who uses the "service" dept at a dealership deserves what they get

    Correct.

If your selling model requires you to lobby and create laws that outlaw any other method, maybe your method is not really what would survive.
If dealers want to prove they are a better way to buy cars, stop lobbying against DTC brands.
    Let the consumer choose.

I can go to Best Buy to buy a Macbook, or I can go to the Apple store. Let me decide.
