At the league minimum. Hell yeah. He's still a plus defender and his bat isn't embarrassing.

That seems less than awesome. Hitting is hard! Even in AAA.
I suspect he will have his timing back by the end of the all star break.

Chas doesn't have a smooth swing so he needs reps to hit. He will get it back. I hope they wait until he gets it back in Sugarland before bringing him back.

I'm about ready to take a flier on luis robert. He has to be worth a bag of doritos and $7.50 at this point.

So, if it’s a grade 2 calf strain (and I don’t believe yet that they have any idea it’s not torn or an Achilles) we are looking at 8 weeks. Call it early to mid September if nothing goes wrong

i think you have to plan for finishing the year without him.
that tells me that we definitely need Chas back at the end of the all star break so we see if we have to fix CF or not.
I don’t love Mullins but he plays CF passably (same as Chas) and hits left handed. Hes basically almost a must get at this time. Ideal would be a platoon with he and Chas at LF, but one can play center and one can play left if Meyers, Yordan and Melton all don’t work out and if Altuve gets shifted to 2B in playoffs.
    probably ideal playoff lineup

Peña, Paredes, Altuve, Yordan, Smith, Diaz, Walker, Chas/Melton, Meyers/Mullins

PH- Caratini (DH if Yordan is dead of has a hook for a hand by then).
PR- Melton if he doesn’t start

3rd catcher- Salazar- never plays, utility/defensive replacement- Dubon

this requires one trade for a mediocre dude that nevertheless fits us perfectly, plus Yordan, Chas, Melton, Meyers and Pena to all get healthy. All of their timelines are such that they should easily be healthy by then according to what the team is saying. But, Astros medical staff.

So I think we should after DJ LeMahieu at the minimum. We don't a full time second baseman and he's somewhat respectable at the plate and gets on base at a decent clip. He can also play 3rd and 1st in a pinch.

We really can't afford all these injuries. Our whole team has been on the IL at some point.

At this point we have to get someone other than someone in AAA, lets take a flyer on DJ, maybe a change of scenery will help

Even if he has the same level of production, it's more than we are currently getting at that position. He is slightly below average fielding and he gets on base at an average clip.

We are 7 games up in the division and 1 up for the 2 seed. We can totally afford them as long as guys start coming back.
    Reasonable take:
    Chas- post ASB
Peña- somewhere between ASB and 8/1
    Melton 8/15-9/1
    Yordan- 9/1
    Meyers- 9/1-9/15
    Dezenzo- spring 2026

    pitchers: Javier and Garcia- 8/1
    Arrighetti- 8/1-8/15.

I don’t really care about the pitchers (it will be nice but we are more or less stable and playable right now where we are at) as much as the position players.
We don’t need all the position players back but we need either Yordan and Pena, or, failing that we need 4 of the other guys.

Not a good flavor of doritos, maybe like a cool ranch. .185/.272/.311 this season. He's putrid.
