The best way to truly determine how tariffs impact you, as a consumer, is have categories of goods - Cars, Food/Groceries, Household essentials that you keep a track of over the next year.

As of now you cannot say the US is on an inflationary spiral. The stance from WH is tariffs are a temporary price shift, foreign exporters carry their burden, and recent CPI data show inflation easing. All good in theory, but it comes down to how it plays out in the real world. The consumer class may be the top 10%, but all Americans have to spend on their car, food and household essentials. Moving production from long ingrained supply chains overseas to the US can't be an overnight process so my expectation is a heavy bump over the next year, a mellow period, then a strong reduction and strength returning to the middle class in the latter half of 27-28 going into elections. It will be a drawn out play but rectify a decades old problem that has hollowed out the middle class.

It is so funny looking back at this tariff thread. Hilarious nonsense posted by Trumpers in the immediate aftermath of the “liberation day”.

Oh look, 90 countries reached out to negotiate deals! Trump is so Strong!! Swallow each lie from Trump, hook line and sinker.

By their conspicuous absence from this tariff thread, maybe they’re starting to realize Trump, Peter Navarro and ChatGPT are not a good way to run our trade policy.

There are some real doozies in here as I recall.

    3 mos after this lie,

as well as the lie by Navarro of 90 deals in 90 days,

only 2 signed deals, UK and Vietnam.

it'd not be far-fetched to say that foreign countries are calling out Trump's TACO stance on Tariffs

Well, I’ve done a good bit of searching and found no article on yahoo finance or anywhere else that remotely suggests that there was 9 percent inflation at any time in Biden’s presidency.

    Sorry, but it’s bullshit-t.

    ***

Whatever information you are consuming, I would tell you that you should seriously consider confirmation bias - that your mind is accepting as true anything that you want to be true. Like the 9 percent inflation number. Your information outlets know this and continue to pump out nonsense because people have an innate desire to feel that they are right.

I say this to everyone - If you aren’t reading from both liberal and conservative sources, you have zero chance of having a sense of reality and you are making no effort to do so.

Do we think that threatening Brazil with tariffs to influence the bolsonaro trial is good thing for the US economy?

They don't sound like the master negotiators they claim to be. Other countries are tired of our **** and now that we have proven that we are an unstable country, they are mitigating their risk as fast as they can.

"dumping goods into the country to create jobs in China"...................WTF, its this kind of rhetoric that the maga base listens to and believes and why some on here believe we had 9% inflation under Biden, it blows my mind that you can buy BS

I am not going to say people are dumb per say, hell my mom and dad are maga..................they get their news from fox, podcasts and the most reliable place, FB, where they can spin their lies. Even when presented with facts, they won't/don't believe them. I am afraid no matter what happens they won't believe it....................I am not sure if even they got kicked off medicaid and their SS was reduced; they would not back him. It's just not healthy to have that devotion to a Billionaire Politician, but they`ve drank the kool aid. trump`s biggest accomplishment is dividing this country even further....I may be naive, but I don't remember when each side was so dug in and the insults are next level, Social Media IMO is 90% of the issue and the other 10% is the gop has become cucks to their wanna be dictator
