Anybody watch this yet? Guessing not. Undecided whether to waste my time, when there are so may other things i want to waste my time on. I need the Siskel & Ebert bottom line - thumbs up or thumbs down?
It's on my to-watch, but I just don't have the faith in Marvel to put out top quality product to watch on the night it drops.
heard it’s ok…that it’s pretty decent Back in the Infinity War and End Game days I probably would’ve watched this, but now? Nope only character I care about is Dr. Strange…when they make something about him, I might tune in, everything else is a skip
Been curious about this as well, considering it's being released in two 3 episode lumps got the impression it was just being dumped out with little fanfare.....
I watched two episodes. I thought it was decent, but there are some jumps/things I don't understand (maybe gets explained later?). I'll end up finishing it, but I watch almost everything Marvel, so there's that.
I thought this show was actually pretty decent. Some of the plot points to move the chess pieces where the show runners wanted to go felt a little silly especially in the next to last episode, but it’s pretty easy to overlook. The big final showdown scene too is underwhelming as hell. I hope they go somewhere with this especially with the cameo character at the end they setup. Riri is obviously put in play here as a mechanism to get this bigger character into a main characters storyline as a central villain.
The fact that the "super genius" who constantly acts like a moron is named "Riri" will never not be funny. You have to think that was done intentionally as a joke. On top of that, the show is a decent villain origin story where a greedy but stupid petty criminal moves to greater and greater criminal acts before outright selling her soul to the literal MCU devil. I'm thinking they'll memory hole this character and just pretend she never existed like the eternals.
It was good so far and still getting through it. When I see review bombs before it even starts and no one has seen it, I ignore them and it makes me want to watch it more to decide for myself.
Watch it last week, she's decent but not the most magnetic onscreen. Story was ok, sort of middle of the road because they couldn't figure out if they wanted to go a bit more comedy as opposed to serious. 6 episodes was a good length especially since it feels like a big set up for something else.......
I asked because when so many critics piled on and blasted The Acolyte, I just had to watch it out of morbid curiosity. It ended up being a very tough slog because the show was legit terrible and the lead actress was flat out pathetic. Lack of range doesn't begin to describe it. Trying to determine if Ironheart is at least worth watching just out of curiosity. I might give E1 a try later this month.
Other than a black female lead actress on Disney those series are in different universes and settings, so I don't have a reason to lump or compare the two. But I'll complete the season and see where it's at or leads.
