Teams now get THREE two-way spots. Last year, we had Nate Williams, N’Faly Dante & Jack McVeigh. Nate was converted to a standard deal late in the season, then we signed David Roddy to fill that third spot.
What is Dante’s current situation? Is his QO a 2-way QO? Is there a deadline he has to accept/decline by
Those summer leagues have been around in one form or another forever. They exist because the hosting teams chose to start and run them. It's not the NBA giving them to a team or giving only those teams games. Leagues have folded, folded and then come back, etc. due to lack of teams wanting to participate, too. In the Rockets' case, I have no idea why they'd want to participate in more than one league with this roster.
I mean, thats just more data points right? if I were the Rox I can use that time on the other hopefuls.
Grrr I only want to see Reed and I don’t get in until 3pm on Sunday :/ I’ll be there for Monday, Tuesday, and maybe Wednesdays games. is there any Rockets fans meetups?
Dante was extended a two-way qualifying offer (which is just another two-way contract), so he is a restricted free agent and the Rockets have the right to match (pretty much) any offer for him. My guess is that he ends up back on the Rockets on another two-way deal. I believe he has until October to accept the qualifying offer.
so sounds like we are looking at Harris, Dante and that 3rd 2-way spot is open. Do u think we’ll waive Nate Williams since he’s non-guaranteed, or do u see him staying in the 14th spot on the roster?
yeah I just think it’s time to move on from Johnatheen. He’s gonna be 27, and I’d rather take a flier on a younger prospect, especially since we sat out the draft this yr and don’t have a 1st round pick in 2026.
