For clarity, this will be a small-ish presser with just Rafael, since KD won't physically be in town prior to Summer League. They're hopeful of doing a bigger presser/event later in the summer, but the schedules just didn't work out for early this week, and then everyone is going to be in Vegas for a while.
Can we get some new KD workout video or something? the streets are starving for some KD footage there’s only so many times I can watch him cooking and deep frying Jabari bro was getting COOKED medium rare Jabari basted in butter with a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes
This is actually surreal though. Still can’t believe the Rockets have Kevin Durant. I was a hater at 37 years old at first - but honestly, he’s as good as he’s ever been. We only need 2 legit years to go for it with him imo. He’s one of the best NBA players ever and still playing at that clip statistically.
Too close to Olajuwon, he realizes he can never be bigger and 3+5 =8 but minus 1 you get the singular equivalent to 35-1=34 so he feels like he can be like Dream and bring a trophy here Also to take a shot at Melo who was not the key, but he is
The Rockets acquired Charles Barkley a long time back for Sam Cassell and Robert Horry. The potent trio of Barkley ,Drexler and Olajuwon was not enough to win another championship. So this same formula of acquiring an old, aging 'star' has not worked for the organization before. I don't see why it will work with KD. Remains to be seen if Kevin Durant can play 4 - 6 months of injury free basketball and play 82 games in the regular season. If he couldn't do it in Brooklyn and Phoenix, I don't see what the Rockets see in him that makes them think he can get a different result for the Rockets. This is my own personal opinion.
The 2nd apron does not even allow 3 full grown Superstars in their absolute primes. I think the Rockets are better equipped than most teams to at least fight for the Finals but I don't think now that they are the Number 3 contender, suddenly the team is well gelled and cooperation is at its peak. Udoka's teams play to extremes, and I don't like extremes, I like balance.....
The difference is this time, they kept Cassel and Horry (our young guns) and added one of the best ever, and still potent, "aging Stars".
