Is this phase III or phase IV? I have lost track of the phases.

 

Yes - well Stone and Udoka think that Reed will help the Rockets, they don't think that Cam will - hence why he is gone.

Stone also claimed that he traded for Wall to mentor the younger players and then forced him to stay home.... you have to read between the lines.

Sheppard and Amen = young players the Rockets like and will play........... Cam = player they don't think will help and they would not play.

I mean if Cam can get out of the me first mentality and thinking he’s Kobe then the potential is there. Wish him the best, but Reed is your future.

 

Let me translate this for you as stone likes to talk between the lines:

"We finished second last year, and have higher aspirations this year - hence the Durant trade. We no longer have the patience for players who do not take to coaching and can present problems in the locker room."

If you take what Stone said "literally" you realize he's talking about character development. We still have young players that will develop basketball wise... Amen, Tari, Bari, Sengun, Reed etc...

There's a faction of this board that does not understand that after a certain point in time, projects like Cam stop being feasible with the limited amount of roster spots, seriousness of the task at hand, limited number of minutes that can be given in each game, and the level of professionalism that has to go into each and every day. Having a malcontent that believes his happiness and progression is more important than contributing to winning a championship only harbors ill feelings in the locker room, and expends energy that can be used in more productive ways. This team is gunning for an OKC team that is stacked from 1-15.....this isn't Mickey Mouse Club anymore.

Translation: paying millions of dollars to teenagers is frustrating and the NBA will likely reinvent this.

Not sure why people can't seem to grasp that you can have guys who are developing without being a developmental team, i.e., a team with a primary focus on developing young guys as opposed to winning.
