Yep, the unusual activity got flagged and when they looked into it they found he threw both pitches in the dirt. The second time the pitch was egregiously bad - almost looked like he realized the first time around the batter could have swung even with it being in the dirt. Had he thrown a fastball that was just off the corner the investigation into the activity probably would have ended there.
For those who haven’t seen it, here is the 2nd pitch in question. He ends up getting down 2-0 in this AB and gives up a HR…

I'll ask it again, how many days is Walker taking off for paternity? I could understand taking a day or two, but anymore than that with the all-star break starting on Monday??
His old lady sure did time that right. Dude gets to be there for the birth plus 2 more days, goes to work in town for 3 days then gets 5 days off.
Invite Jose Ramirez over to the clubhouse….inquire if he might entertain waving his No-trade clause for a shot at a ‘chip w/a real organization (dream on, I know)
So Walker out and Meyers dealing with an injury also. I think our lineup of guys not starting tonight may be better than the one that is. SS Pena DH Yordan CF Meyers 1B Walker 3B Dezenzo LF Chas 2B Rodgers RF Melton C Salazar (only guy healthy and available)
Yea, Walker going out with paternity leave while our thin line up is already missing Yordan and Pena is less than ideal. I mean, we might continue to magic up some offense from guys we've never heard of but still, less than ideal.
I don't have kids, but totally understand. Not all people without kids are people who don't understand what the birth of a child means to a family.
Bottom 6? What? Yainer has been great since June, Caratini has 2 Grand Slams in the last week+...... Short might have had issues in the Majors previously, and his minor league stats say he can't hit, but, that dude owned the dodgers, and his numbers are kinda off the charts atm....
