Reed can hit literally any shot on the court with just an inch of space. During the Finals I was constantly telling my wife "look at the space McConnell has here. Reed will *never* have that much space". Once he gets enough reps to truly run the offense he will be more than fine. The kid just manufactures points and is a great passer to boot. He'll likely get blitzed a ton in the SL so curious to watch him either split the doubles or set up his teammates.
No such thing as a bust in year 1 but we're waiting to see if a bust can become a good player in year 5.
he's so talented, it's definitely an opportunity and rhythm situation. i remember that first game in SL last year and thought we had found the new Chris Paul, which was not on my radar from his college tape, thought he was a very capable guard with incredible shooting ability and worth a gamble at #3 for star upside and safe downside. The midrange he displayed immediately was stunning. It seems like the team wants to give him his opportunity here and trading Jalen and Cam opens up a huge spot for minutes. I hope he takes the opportunity and never lets go. Hopefully this is the last season of FVV starter.
I guess he’s a savior for some here. What if he shows no improvement. Would fans turn on him the way they turned on other players? I highly doubt they will
No I haven’t because I don’t see anyone as a savior and have no expectations for any players. I root for the Rockets to win. I cheer and root for Rockets players. If they don’t pan out so be it. But That wasn’t my question. Considering the hype and how some people already crowned him the second coming of Chris Paul or Curry, there is oddly much emotional attachment and investment in this player. This is unusual for a player that hasn’t achieved much at the pro level and played one year NCAA and how no scouts have compared him to such players. The love and hype is unreal
Uh oh! Look at DD driving the Hype/Hope train for Reed! LOL! But seriously I was hoping for a Mark Price / Steve Nash type myself. He’s got to stop tip toeing around and be himself out there.
With green and cam gone has Reed officially become the player that the clutch fan haters are gonna crap on? Gotta place that hate somewhere amirite?
Why did you think his game was similar to Chris Paul? Do you still think he plays like Chris Paul or has the potential to be Chris Paul?
I don’t think so. He is already Jesus to many. If Durant doesn’t perform like Durant maybe the hate is focused there. Or maybe Amen. Very interesting to see what happens
Clock is ticking on Reed Sheppard, he better breakout as a PG or he will be traded for Derrick White or Payton Pritchard of the Celtics. The Celtics are in sell mode.
