The posters that want to trade Yordan are probably the same posters that wanted to trade Horry.

I love Yordan. what if over the next 2.5 years you get 380 (out of like 400) games from Kwan and you get 150 or 200 out of Yordan?

Yeah- it’s about if he’s healthy and locked in for the post season. Unless, you know, you don’t end up either a bye and lose a best of 3 coin flip because he missed 100 games. Or, if it’s like the 2020 post season where he was on the shelf. Or, or or.
if we miss out on the bye by a game or 2 or 3 that lowers our odds of winning it all by about 50%.
If Yordan isn’t available for the post season either the current roster when the playoffs roll around it lowered the odds by probably 25 or 33%.

It’s almost impossible to convey how much I hate the fact that you are more right than wrong on all that.

Last month people were piling on trying to say how ridiculous it was to say Yordan would be out a month+. Like “Dana Brown said he should be back this weekend, dumbass!” When it comes to predicting return timelines for Houston’s injured players, always take the over. ALWAYS. BY A LOT.

Melton hurting himself watching a home run to the extent that he'd miss 3 months is the craziest one to me.

But with our luck this season I'm glad he didn't die right there on the field.

I feel bad for that guy. With all the injuries to the team, he had a real shot. Terrible. Keeps him up at night I’m sure.

Id wager even if that were the case, assuming playoff abs for both in each scenario, Yordan has a more crucial impact when it counts

Is Yordan healthy and playing well in the playoffs? If so then give me Yordan.

Or it could be like 2019 or 2021 or 2022 or 2023 or 2024 ya know. Don’t be a prisoner of the moment.

Look I’ll just say this. I get to a certain extent where you are coming from, not Kwan but generally be open to a trade.

But, if/when Yordan comes back and plays in the postseason and continues to make pitchers diarrhea **** their pants and ends up launching another homer to the moon in a World Series clinching game, can we just not talk about trading Yordan Alvarez ever again regardless of how his health plays out? Can we make that deal.

Also, can we get Yordan one of those torpedo bats or whatever the ones that are supposed to put less stress on the hands, maybe even some extra padding in the batting gloves, and maybe any one of the hundreds of highly qualified medical professionals within a 10 mile radius of Minute Maid park that aren’t tied to the Astros frontier doctor staff?

I bet Melton and Dezenzo make iy back by the end of July. Hopefully Arrighetti makes it back too by the end of July.

Or Yordan plays 100 games like he does every yr except his knee injury year and this year and performs like he always does in the playoffs. Remember there are a lot of great players like Biggio/Bagwell that dont have the clutch playoff gene that Yordan has and that's invaluable.

Yordan doesn’t even have to be “playing well” in order for it to be worth it. He played pretty terribly for the majority of the 2022 playoffs, but all it takes is one stupid ass pitch in a key moment

The suggestion of trading Yordan is insane. A star on a great contract who is a huge playoff performer. You'd never get close to equal value
