That's kinda it though. Staying healthy could be a challenge for this roster. Stone put it together, he better hope they don't all fall apart on him or it could get ugly.

 

If you were of the opinion that the backcourt was the problem last year. Then either FVV or Jalen had to go and in reality Durant was probably the only guy worth pursuing. It was either take the chance on Durant’s health or play it back with the Fred/Ime defined offense. Stone left himself plenty of flexibility to be able to make trades if catastrophe hits. Most every team has to take gambles with the current cap rules. Most everybody said Ime didn’t have the offensive tools to work with. That excuse doesn’t exist anymore. Unless Durant, Amen, or Sengun gets hurt early, we will be able to ascertain if Ime has the offensive acumen to be a championship coach.

 

If it's a problem, that means most likely Ime failed to manage minutes properly....something that, in fairness, he's pretty terrible at.

This team is so deep that there's no reason for anyone over 30 to log heavy minutes during the regular season.

 

that’s true if Reed takes the jump they expect him to. Reed has become very important to this roster construction. Holiday is not adequate backcourt depth.

 

He doesn't really need to take a "jump", he just needs to be given the playing time he should have been given last season. When given legitimate opportunity, he was a playmaker on both sides of the ball. I would expect, if Ime allows it, he'll be able to show it a bit more this season.

Holiday is fine as an emergency option or victory cigar....but we'll see if Ime uses him properly or if he forces him into the game way too often.

The Rockets have an embarrassment of wealth in the depth department, it's all on Ime to properly use it.

I'm not going to **** on the notion of talking down to people....sometimes it's warranted. My problem with him specifically doing so is that his arguments were always so absolutely terrible.

You don't have to be the smartest person in the room to talk down to people who deserve it, but it just hits different when you are one of the dumbest people in the room talking down to those who have better arguments.

For what it's worth, I don't think he's actually a dumb person, I just think that he was crippled by cognitive bias due to his status as a Jalen first type fan...and that can be indistinguishable from stupidity. If he wasn't trying so desperately to push false narratives for his man, he likely would have had much more competent posts.

Wouldn't you say people are doing the same with Cam as others were doing for Jalen. I'm glad Jalen is gone but Cam doesn't deserve any praise whatsoever

I think the Cam situation is more similar to the KPJ situation where you have a talented head case.

If we were in the spot we were in after Harden destroyed the team and there was basically no talent on the team and no hope, I'd be all for keeping him and seeing what he could do.... but the Rockets are too good and too deep to risk that kind of distraction in the locker room

 

That's a fair assessment. That's why I want him gone. KPJ was a huge disruption. It didn't matter much because the team was garbage. This team has a chance to contend. Don't need a guy like Cam who is insignificant causing problems.
