In an alternate universe with the same draft order the Rockets didn’t whiff and they drafted Mobley at #2 and Jalen Williams instead of Jabari Smith Jr at #3 and have the best young duo in the NBA.

If they had drafted Mobley, they wouldn't have been bad enough to keep getting top picks, especially if they still did the trade to get Sengun to pair with him.

Ugh. At that price why not just keep the dude? That's such a bad return, 2 second rounders are garbage and we prob just give it to PHX to pay off our debt.

I don't even buy the salary cap savings Whitmore just makes 3M, that's like a veteran min contract just don't resign a vet min boom you have the same tax savings.

First D trade of the offseason for me. I don't care if Udoka doesn't like Whitmore trading him for 2 2nds is not it.

Thing is this is an Udoka trade not a Stone trade. Stone wants young guys Udoka clearly wants old guys.

They got rid of a guy who would never be allowed to play and a draft bust.

All of the young core is intact.

How far exactly? A first round loss!!! He just traded our two most fun players and the 10th pick for a 37 year old. We are giving up our future for one - three years.

That's it? You see, Stone is a good GM and all but the way he drafts, it's like he looks at ESPN's mock draft and pick whoever is rated highest.

If Cam didn't fall, he would've/should've drafted a future role player but instead you draft Cam and don't give him any minutes to develop. Now you ship him off to a place he probably will average 20ppg and look like a future star while we only got two 2nds back. Couldn't even get a late first because he was in Ime's doghouse all of last year.

Nah man Mobley is overpaid AF and nobody had Jalen Williams at 3. I doubt even OKC knew he would be that good they picked another dude before him.

Hahah..dude, if he gets more than 25min per game I'll eat a shoe...

The 2 second rounders just show what the league thinks hes worth...

Some of these people don’t realize Cam needs to play for economic purposes

I wish Cam the best. He wanted to get more opportunties to play, the Rockets are going for a championship and there is an incompatibility there right now. Stone did him a solid. I hope it works out for him.

I obviously don't like this trade but your post doesn't really make any sense. If Stone just picks from ESPN mock draft how did we even end up with Sengun, Cam and Tari? If all those picks were obvious how come other teams didn't pick them?

You are also blaming Stone for picking Cam when you are saying Cam will be a future star? Are you blaming Stone for not knowing that Udoka and Cam would clash? LOL wtf dude. Cam and Udoka having irreconcilable differences is 2 years from when Stone drafted Cam, how was he supposed to know things would turn out this way? Jalen Green looked even worse than Cam and he turned into a good player under Udoka.

Rockets screwed up. Should have traded him beginning of last year or mid season. You would have gotten at least a first rounder. Didn’t play him consistent minutes and dropped his value down. You got to do a better asset management if you know you will not be giving player play time. Ime better give reed 20 minutes per game now or we will see his draft stock going down as well. If you are not going to give him play time then trade him off now as well while his value is still high.

It’s disappointing that Cam Whitmore didn’t buy in to what Ime Udoka and his assistant coaches expected of him. Hopefully, he matures in D.C. and takes advantage of the playing time he will get for a rebuilding team.

Stone took a gamble, and it didn’t pay off. Also, having Whitmore stuck to the bench or in the G-League was going to further diminish his trade value.

The reality is every player in the NBA is talented, and nothing is guaranteed to a player in Whitmore’s position. He better change his work ethic and mindset, or he will not be an NBA player for long.
