Damn folks turn on Stone at the drop of a hat. Getting whiplash. I trust he knows what he's doing. He got us here so far.

if these are the wizard second rounders over the next couple years then those are decent picks.

I’m guessing if there were any offers for protected first they were from Western Conference rivals.

unfortunate that it ends like this, but at the end of the day I’m guessing that the main guys on the team didn’t have his back:

LOL. Some of these overreactions should be saved for posterity. You guys are almost as upset as when we traded KJ Martin and TyTy Washington.

To the BBS, there’s no better player than the one who gets no minutes. He is a blank canvas that we can all paint our fantasies onto.

They should’ve just drafted castle if they had no intention of playing cam. Now they don’t have a SG on the roster.

I actually think this is a win win move like moving Jalen tbh. Cam didn't want to be here so Stone did what he's built a name of and maintained his rep as a player-friendly GM and grants Cam a move he didn't need to do. Cam gets to go to his home team who are desperately in need of a franchise player and direction. I'm rooting for him, I wasn't his biggest fan but that'd be a hell of a story for him to became their new hope for the future and emerge as a star. I'd have been mad if he went to the Lakers or another West rival, but I'm ok with it. All the best young man, I hope you blow up and became a big deal for your hometown team and get to be the star you want to be.

This is the return I expected. A late first, or multiple 2nds. Wizard’s 2nd round picks are gonna be in the 30s, one would safely assume.

Between this and the Capela signing I’m pretty unimpressed with the decision making of the FO despite how high everyone else remains. To me it feels as if Ime just got a little too much power here quickly. I hope it pans out

should have traded FVV for KD instead of Jalen.

should have aggressively pursued NAW instead of DFS.

Don’t understand using the apron space for Capela over future maneuverability and flexibility in trades including trading Cam for someone making around 8 million instead of using the money on CC.

when that Grimes signing comes in around DFS money because there was no threat of anyone signing him it will sting even more that they passed on him over and over

the rockets have a legit shot at a title and sometimes it’s the margin moves that put the team over the top. I understand trading Jalen over FVV but once you do that willingly, because you “need FVV” to be a title contender, your moves should continue to move towards that. A lot of weight is being put on injury prone FVV and injury prone KD to not be injury prone unless Reed Sheppard has morphed into Steve Nash meets Steph Curry behind the scenes. Jalen had one skill that no one in the NBA matched last year and that’s availability. I’m worried about depth and I’m especially worried about a lack of skilled depth. Going to be fun to watch games where FVV and KD are injured and you have 8 non ball handlers in the rotation

the only way this makes sense is if Cam has MAJOR attitude issues off court

Or if the reports are true and he just really doesn't want to be here? It's a great risk for him tbh, if he stays here then he's 100% a role player for his career unless somebody gets injured and he manages to blow up, that caps his potential earnings significantly. He can got to Washington and have a chance to really be "the man." Even if he doesn't blow up massively I'd hazard he's going to get a LOT more freedom to actually earn a better bag even as a roleplayer, as a star it'd be a huge bump up.

Important to know the details on the 2nd round pick compensation. I’m disappointed in the return, but this is about what Cam’s value was. I don’t think we could just hold him until the deadline given the potential to undermine the team dynamic. But I do think we have to draw the line between keeping players and agents happy, and what’s best for the team. Being player friendly is a smart approach…up to a certain point. Cam was a 1st round talent, but he was never going to recoup his value because he was never going to play. I’m assuming the rockets did the best they could.

Can’t stress this enough. We don’t need any distraction for the next couple of seasons. Everyone has to be on the same page, from GM, to coaches, to the players.

The upside is that getting off players that @DaDakota thinks are really good tends to be a wise move for the rockets. Often we wait too long to be rid of them.

    Oh, he'll blow up there.

And, the Rockets continue to get older.
