    I'm a realist

No arrogance here. I dont believe the govts job is to excessively tax and do with our tax dollars as they see fit. The govt nanny state which includes both GOP/Dems have gotten us into this kind of mess.

As far as rural living goes, that's a personal choice and people who live in the country know the risks. This is just the truth and my opinion on this isn't based out of arrogance. It's based out of personal rural life experiences.

Good thing is none of this matters.

Trump's doing what he promised to do on the campaign trail and the reason 77 million voters that dont think like you do elected Trump.

No. As stated previously, very few, if any, able-bodied, responsible citizens will lose health care insurance. Possibly NONE. The only people who might lose their health care insurance will be 1) those who are able-bodied and refuse to look for work; 2) those who are so irresponsible that they are incapable of filling out routine paperwork; and 3) non-citizens. The liberal pundits that are making up the "BIG LIE" figure of 17 million are citing these groups as the ones who will lose their health care insurance sometime before 2034.

Facts matter, even if you liberals do not like them. Republicans care about uplifting ALL citizens in our society. Republicans tell the truth. Liberals have lied their face off for the last 10+ years on topics like Joe Biden's mental fitness, the Russia collusion scam, COVID origins (it came from eating a bat?), the cause of inflation, and many more despicable lies. And don't forget the liberals big lie during the Obamacare passage, which was "if you like your doctor you can keep him". That was proven to be a total lie. The latest BIG LIE is the 17 million people lie. Don't fall victim to their latest iteration of dishonesty. Dishonesty is what liberals must resort to because their policy positions are so ineffective and unpopular.

Permanent residents, refugees, and asylees can become eligible for Medicaid programs. All are non-citizens.

You are several steps behind the conversation here.

I believe illegals get the proper documentation to get on medicaid. But I think we can agree we're about to find out which one of us is right and the correct answer is probably somewhere in the middle.

We don't just need to tax the rich 3% more and cut out loopholes for corporations, as this won't significantly cut into the deficit and interest on debt, we need to tax and middle class 1-2% more. That is where the numbers are.

The cutting of waste, those gaming government benefits and DOGE is a moot point if we don't.

Republicans had the right idea but wrong execution under the illusion tariffs will make everything ok while driving up prices. Too many working class are making decisions against their best interests by supporting these tax policies.

Neither party can take 1 step forward without taking 2 back.

The ACA subsidies were expanded in 2021 to expand the poverty threshold. Anyone making under 17k was eligible for ACA before 2021. That number was expanded to 33k in 2021 and gave free health insurance to anyone who was unemployed temporarily. These subsidies were eliminated. I owned a medical business that literally just took ACA plans.

I just don't get why you morons have to lie 24/7? Able body individuals wont magically have the previous poverty threshold reinstated.

I don't get why MAGATs lie so much when they cosplay as Christians

Negative dipshit. Illegals are barred from registering under federal programs for Medicaid. States can voluntarily expand the benefit pool but that is paid only by state funds.

MAGAs and their low iq followers @Space Ghost just lie 24/7

Have you quit saying that the 2020 election was stolen, or that the dominion systems flipped in the 2020 election?

That was all the rage for “Republicans telling the truth”.

these vermin have zero shame…absolute scum

Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin wrote a letter urging his state’s Democratic governor to take steps to protect rural hospitals from the fallout of Republicans’ widely reviled budget bill — which Van Orden voted for.

Van Orden’s urgent letter, which was dated Wednesday ahead of the bill’s Thursday passage, added to the list of Republicans who have effectively acknowledged the legitimacy of widespread fears that Republicans’ Trump-backed budget will harm some of the most vulnerable Americans — even as many Republicans have suggested it won’t.

Van Orden’s letter essentially called on Gov. Tony Evers to hurry up and sign the state budget, in order to protect rural hospitals from some of the steep Medicaid cuts that are likely to be triggered by congressional Republicans’ megabill.

“I cannot emphasize enough the importance of signing the proposed state budget into law without delay,” Van Orden wrote. “As you are aware, timely enactment is especially critical this year due to the proposed increase in the state provider tax, which must be effectuated before the anticipated signing of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill on or around July 4, 2025.”

Van Orden’s letter included flowery, Orwellian language touting the GOP bill as ensuring the solvency of BadgerCare, the name of Wisconsin’s Medicaid program, and “bolstering our rural healthcare systems,” but the gist of it was clear: The GOP budget is a threat to Medicaid and rural hospitals, and Wisconsin ought to act accordingly.

Ultimately, Evers and state lawmakers did rush to enact changes that will help Wisconsin’s rural hospitals. And Wisconsin Public Radio’s summary of the buzzer-beating bill signing seems to make clear that the GOP megabill stood to inflict serious financial damage on the state: Wisconsin lawmakers and Gov. Tony Evers raced Wednesday and into Thursday to enact a state budget before President Donald Trump could sign his sweeping budget bill into law.

The stakes were high. If Congress’s budget had become law first, Wisconsin could have lost out on more than $1 billion in federal funds to help the state pay for its BadgerCare medical assistance program and help hospitals offset losses from treating low-income patients. That’s because of sweeping changes to Medicaid in the federal bill.

Its hilarious how Republicans in congress are rushing to combat the steep medicaid budget cuz they know it'll destroy their hospitals while his braindead cultists @El_Conquistador @raining threes keep claiming illegals are taking up all the money lol

If hospitals weren't effected then why are Republicans asking their governors to cover the shortfall?

He’s going to blame the Governor.

Congressional Republicans took credit for the infrastructure bill they didn’t vote for and actively argued against. It would be SOP for them to now blame the bill they voted for on others.

Drop it. This is the authoritarian playbook. Trump is already dropping the seeds on going after citizens. "The criminals" - just like only criminal illegals - the bad ones were going to be deported, now it's all 20 million.

Then it's the criminal citizens, when in reality it will be any citizen they don't like. There's no due process on deportations now.

So please, stop this. You know very well where this is going, and you support it.

Higher interest rates is why inflation is in check. Trump's trade wars and deficit spending is why Powell won't lower them. Lower them now and inflation blows up.
