Cam Whitmore traded to Wizards for 2 2nd round picks

I think the 15 ppg might be a bad bet. The Wizards are tanking. For the same reason that KPJ and Jalen were permitted to throw up anything and everything during the Silas years, Whitmore will probably score a lot without playing defense and without passing the ball.

 

The more it seems this was Cam asking out more than the Rockets wanting him out - and Stone did him a solid by trading him home.

This seems situational - but I do think the Rockets ****ed it up as he is way better than Jalen Green in almost every way, and he sat there and watched that wuss play every game in front of him, while he was left holding an empty bag.

Now he will go over there and avg 20+ points like Grimes and get paid, this is a win for Cam - and who knows maybe he comes back after KD leaves?

Depends on the fans. Basically it seems most valued him either more or much less.

 

I hope this is a move that the Rockets don't regret. Cam could be something special. He is still not even old enough to drink! Who knows the potential in this young man. I wish him the best in his future endeavors.

 

I could easily see Cam averaging 20 on decent efficiency, but I can’t see him developing into a player that plays within the offense or making consistently winning plays.

 

I have no doubt Cam can average 15+ ppg on a bad team. I just don’t think he can average 15+ efficient ppg on a good team while being a net positive. He had a -3.5 on off rating last season despite posting a positive offensive on off. Dude has a really long way to go before being a positive contributor to a good team, though I will be rooting for him.

This is a move that is probably a precursor to a bigger move coming. Maybe Dame, Giannis or something else.

But yes, as a lot of you said, he probably wasn't bought into what Ime wanted from him defensively.

Cam was 20th on draft night because of his attitude and injury concerns, in 2 seasons, he hasn't really played and has had attitude issues as well. I hope no one expected more than this. Good for him but like I said, the whole why are we trading Cam stuff was nonsense because it obviously was what Cam wanted. Contract year, no real chance to get mins and now he gets to play for a team with 0 aspirations and no one in front of him that he can't beat.

 

Right. He's gonna put up points on Washington and people are gonna freak out. But we know what that 20ppg actually is.
