He is going to feast in everything but the two big lineups, which I hope we don’t overuse. Jabari/DFS/Tari will all provide enough outside shooting along Durant to open up the lanes. Sengun at least needs to get back to efficient from the FT line in. This team has a hundred ways to win. It’s all in Ime’s hands. He no longer has any excuses to not run an effective offense.

Way better than we did last year, seems like a weird narrative you're trying to push that has no grounding in reality. Imagine prefacing it with "KD is great but we lost Jalen Green" and trying to get taken seriously?.. lmfao

Do people even remember how hot the names Bruce Brown and Nic Claxton were in 2021? why was that? why nobody hears about them now?

No they can't. Need Offense Assistant Coaches.

Ime Udoka out of timeouts can't draw up easy baskets, very predictable.

Sengun's issue on offense last season was tired legs from the extra effort on defense. He will adjust.

The reason for this thread is Jalen was a big loss for the OP, definitely not a big loss for the team.

    I

I know you are a big Jalen fan, but if you don’t think swapping Jalen for Durant is a huge upgrade you’re just wrong. You make that move without hesitation. The only thing that would make it a bad deal is if we had to give up other assets and we didn’t.

The OP is pretty rough, but the thread title is an interesting question only when KD misses time inevitably. Hopefully we can load manage him against weak teams and he'll be healthy in the playoffs. If he's not, I could see this team struggling to create halfcourt offense. As much as everyone hated Green, he was our only player who, when he was hot, could breakdown defenses and generate 1 on 1 offense on the perimeter. We saw how much we struggled as a team offensively when Green didn't play well.

I am hoping Amen and Reed take strides and be more offensive focused, which would eliminate this problem.

He was smoking layups and had poor efficiency from game 1. He literally started the season shooting 36% from less than 5 ft the 1st 5 games of the season. We're supposed to believe he already had tired legs then?

His defensive intensity was way up from game one on last season. I was not implying his tired legs were a cumulative issue rather he had tired legs within each game due to the extra effort on defense. I think he will adjust. Time will tell.

I’ve said it many times: the team had effed-up pecking order and that was messing with everyone, but mostly Sengun and Fred. they were klutzing all season long because we didn’t have a set pecking order. Who was the TopDog? The Fairy? Fred? Goon?

I hope now things will settle now that we have a bona fide TopDog, I think Fred and Alpi will gain confidence and calmness around KD. That’s how it usually works on a basketball team.

Literally provided his offensive efficiency rating and the league’s. So if it’s a lie, than ESPN is the one lying… the eye test alone confirms he was an efficient scorer last season. He was our best three point shooter, he didn’t take an absurd amount of shots, and basically only shot elbows post up jumpers if they weren’t layups or threes.

I would never put Green and Dillon on the same planet in terms of inefficiency (last season).

The least relevant metric being provided, when it says the exact opposite of literally every other measure of efficiency isn't the win you think it is.

Can we trade him to the Suns’ BBS for cash considerations?

Jalen Green and his inefficient shooting doesn’t bring much value as a third or fourth option, especially at his bloated salary. That would have been his role with Durant here and explains why the Rockets chose to keep Jabari Smith Jr., instead.

They didn't even want Jalen, there's no way we could talk them into talking his cancerous fanbase too

You provided nothing, you provided a team stat. His TS was 4% below the league, that’s a fact not an opinion. His efficiency sucked, as it always does. Not as bad as jalen, but saying he was efficient is indisputably false.

You do realize that the ball will be distributed with other players increasing their fga. It’s not as if you magically lose the 20 fga Jalen contributes to, with LOW efficiency might I add.

As long as the ball is shot more efficiently by others you will have a net increase in offensive points, and according to others with the data showing that most players had HIGHER efficiency with Jalen off the floor, I expect our offense to improve.

Dillon on the other hand I’m not so sure, I felt he had big contributions to our season his offensive production (not post season, since he completely disappeared) will be missed.

just saying Jalen is alright and KD is a reliable scorer is already laughable
