The playing field is actually tilted in favor of blacks in many countries (affirmative action, lower standards, DEI initiatives), and yet the performance issue remains. Leveling the playing field would exacerbate the problem because it would remove those advantages.

Assuming we are talking about this problem in the context of the USA (and not globally)... if we want progress, I'd look at family structures (more 2-parent households), more religious participation, and prioritizing education above sports. Jobs programs in urban areas are also important -- people need a purpose and to be able to build wealth... and this will help reduce crime and drugs. We know what does NOT work -- which is making excuses, playing the race card, and seeking government assistance.

Globally, I think the fixes are similar at the individual level... and if we are talking about majority black countries, then there's a long list of governance and corruption issues that need to be addressed.

Issue is that you have guys like Anthony Edwards who every young kid wants to be, paying off baby mamas to never see their kid again.

Disgusting behavior that ultimately, sets in on thousands of kids that its OK to abandon the family ddynamic.

Approximately 63% of black youth in America do not have two parents in the home -- that's a staggering statistic. For whites it's 30% and for Asians it's 19%. There's the answer right there.

Fathers play HUGE roles in the development of children and this is the #1 issue that has to be addressed if we truly want to uplift blacks in America. We need to pinpoint what is causing the problem and attack it with a sense of urgency. Is it due to impulse control? Financial? Crime? Education? If we can solve this problem then huge improvement is on the horizon.

I'm just confused by your standards. It is a crime to illegally cross the border. It is a civil infraction to overstay a visa. Both are illegal immigrants subject to deportation, but you want to grant immunity from deportation to the visa overstays? Why, because they didn't commit a misdemeanor?
