Dana: Hey Joe, thinking about bringing up Shae in place of Pena, what do you think? Joe: Yea Dana thats fine, I have Guillorme, Hummel and Caratini to use so i'll just sit him Dana: You know Caratini got off to a great start, but for the entire month of June he hit .162 with a .516 OPS, Shae just keeps hitting at AAA, you really should get him in at DH at least. Especially at Coors field where it can take some runs to get a W Joe: Lol, ok Dana, hold my beer and watch this
Astros main problem last year was Jabreu GPing. Whether he was "finding his stroke" in the minors or outright DFA'd, the team played 600 ball without his wasted oxygen.
I think inter-league play should be done away with or at least scaled back a good bit. It was interesting for a while but that time has passed. I still like the idea of playing a “rival” team home and away. Some say the pitching would suffer more without interleague play because hitters would be too familiar with them by the end of the season. That never seemed to be an issue before interleague play. Also, it was cool to have 2 teams from 2 different worlds in the World Series. Completely different schedule and never faced each other before. I know sometimes that still happens, I guess.
Felt pain. Seeing a hand specialist now. Why didn’t they have a specialist clear him before hitting live pitching? They should be checking after every single session. This medical staff is so terrible.
I wonder if he would be back this season if they would've just gotten the surgery off the bat. This reminds me of the Lance situation from a few years ago when they tried doing everything but getting the surgery but ended up just making things worse.
