Call me crazy, but going in on Giannis and Kevin Durant ain't the way. What happened to staying patient and building through the draft like Sam Presti did in OKC. I get the feeling that this is yet another failed superteam in the making. And, you're delusional if anyone thinks that we can get Giannis without giving up either Sengun or Amen and all of our first round picks for the next 4-5 years. If we trade for Giannis and it doesn't result in a championship we're back to phase 1, and Ime's going to be replaced in the middle of this if that happens.
Giannis for Sengün, Sheppard, Tari and Jock + 2 suns picks. Sign DFS FVV Amen KD /DFS Bari Giannis/Adams that’s the favorite to win the championship but needs a lot of guys to take the Vet minimum. I think you go for it if it’s available because MVP candidates don’t grow on trees but trading Sengun is a lot more likely to be the SGA/Haliburton (how could they do that) than Jalen was.
I hear you. It depends on what the org wants. Durant is obviously a win now move. It’s hard to say no to increasing the chances during this 3 year window. I don’t really love it either but it’s fun to think about.
From a financial point of view, the Rockets can probably make more money with the team as currently constructed - top 2 in the west, clear contender with at least a decade worth of contention, and with KD in fold we'll likely get a lot of nationally televised games for the next 2-3 years. Going all in with Giannis makes the window literally the KD window. Sure, we'll be the most talked about current superteam, but after 2-3 years, we'll be right back to square one with the KPJ/CWood/Silas years and tanking both our W-L record and ranking last in attendance and revenue. This really isn't that hard of a decision and should be a clear pass on Giannis. And you can argue that the team as currently constructed has the same, or even better chance of winning a title vs. a top heavy, KD/Giannis team that is one bad injury away from being a play-in team
I'm skeptical that the Rockets will be willing to give up enough in a Giannis trade. Sengun is a must even if just for the salary matching. One of Tari and Reed is also needed if not both. Then you have 2 Phoenix picks, Dallas pick, and Nets pick. Are the Rockets willing to give up all 4? Will Milwaukee take 2 of them and add a Rockets won pick years down the line? My position is that Sengun is already a borderline all star on a plus contract and entering his prime. If he's going out then I don't want to add much more to the deal. Maybe 2 of the good picks and maybe Tari (Reed is too valuable in a situation where Giannis is here). But I don't think the Bucks take that deal.
I don't know or not if it will be for Giannas or not but I can see Sengun being traded at some point. Currently you have 3 of your main players who like to score with 15ft; Durant likes to post up, Amen likes the paint area, as well as Sengun. The question is who else besides Giannas?
Have not looked a salaries and cap space. Maybe this could be why we are looking at DFS. Tari would be included in the trade for Giannis.
I personally don't think Stone has the stones to trade for Giannis! It would be an al in move for him, and if we've seen anything from him is that he doesn't like to stick his neck out... (p.s.) I don't think it would be a wise move to trade for Giannis at this point... but what do I know, I'm just a really good looking King in the interwebs... ....... ....... .......
Means we screwed Jabari in a low ball offer only to trade him Cause there is no way we can get Giannis without giving Up Jabari IMO EDIT: I see we cannot Trade Bari . . .never mind Rocket River
