It was nice of Tucker to put the 10 run curse on the Cubs today.

Adding batS would be awesome. Get Your Daddy back in the 3 hole and Walker might settle to league average at least or could get red hot for playoff chase. It seems like a solid lefty for some of our extra pitching would be simple answer.

They intend to add at least a bat, and would like to add two. However they want a quality starting pitcher as well. I would question it - but M&M have a lot of input with Brown, and if the organization wants pitching, I will trust them based on their insane track record.

Need the trade deadline to be August 15 this year in the worst possible way so we have more of a view of what we have arm wise.

2 bats and an arm would be a lot to add from an already thin farm system. Wonder what we would be looking to unload that would bring back enough to make a difference

Maybe they feel like some of these AAA arms are playing way above their heads (Gordon, Gusto, Walter) and are going to try and sell high? I don't like that idea because if they aren't, these are guys that could help soften Framber leaving in free agency, or just in general keep us pretty dominant by having a deep staff (albeit a oft-injured one). But I guess I trust our pitching staff to make the right decisions on this stuff.

That is their ideal - last year they wanted to do the same and got only 1 player.
Some of the players they are linked to don’t make a lot (Peralta) But would be expensive in trade. Others (Mullins/Lux) wouldn’t cost as much in salary or assets. I will be curious as to what they end up being able to get.

Copernicus (Buck) said it didn't matter who won the game today. I tried to appeal to his more rational senses, but to no avail.

I remember the part of the season when we couldn't string consecutive wins together...

    Valdez/Brown starts
    24-9

    All other starts
    26-25

We have won Valdez' last 10 starts. We have won the last 6 Brown starts (and 11 of the last 13). So that's 13 in a row that we have won when Valdez or Brown starts. That is some kind of roll we are on.

You can worry about the Mariners...other people will worry about landing bigger fish.

The division doesn't matter. Top 2 doubles your title odds ... Yankees or bust!

Lux would be my choice. He has an OPS in the 800s against right handed pitchers. Can't hit a softball against lefties.

At with Peralta's cheap contract, I don't know how we stay below average he tax threshold since we are only 2 million below it. We would have to ask them to eat some of our salary.

Trade some salary to make the Peralta trade. Chas and some minor leaguers?

That $2M is an estimate (not sure where you got it from). It is very possible they have more wiggle room than that. But either way, when trading for a player on a low salary it is easier to get the other team to eat it all if needed.

I have been out of town so I could not post BUT, dam after this series I sure miss King Tuck but having Cam and Isacc is just as sweet. IMO Joe E left Lance in too long on Saturday, but overall, I guess Joe has been OK....................Jake is the real deal (this year) and moving him up in the line up gets Kudos from me, play the HOT hand. Is it just me or does every strike to Walker that's "just a tad out of the box" get called a strike, the dude has ZERO luck and he seems to be pressing but who can blame him. This team is just friggin CLUTCH, what a fun team to watch..................I take back all the negative crap I said a few months ago :D

We have to sign Framber,,,,,,,,,,,he doesn't seem to be a head case this year. When Framber and Hunter pitch I just "assume" we will win....not realistic over the course of the season but if and when they lose, I will be a tad shocked.
