I meant it past tense as in when he signed.

I've encountered this point on Jalen's value since he was traded, guys I really don't think Jalen had positive value in that deal.

At $24 mil per for 5 that’s a great signing for Jabari.

Good value for his production. Could be a bit overpaid, but its fine. KD can help him earn it. All in all, don't hate it.

Awesome deal. Anyone who watched Bari at the end of last year and the playoffs saw him take a serious step forward, and I expect that to continue. Also, he is a guy with a really high floor. At the very worst we are getting a great glue guy who plays hard, plays good defense and can hit shots if needed. At best we are getting an all star. He proved himself as a guy who deserves this extension. I would love to get Tari done too but, we will see. Stone is the man.

I said at the beginning of this offseason that if we could get Bari and Tari extended for a combined $45 mil per or less, that would be a huge win. We are on our way!!!!

So will they be committing to Jabari as a starter on this team moving forward?

I like this deal, but only if he’s more involved in what we’re doing

he came off the bench in the playoffs averaging just 20 mpg and taking a measly 5 shots a game…24-25 mil/yr for a player with that kind of role isn’t worth it

30 mpg starter giving u let’s say 15, 8, and 2 with good defense certainly is tho

I disagree. Senguns contract was good regardless of whether or not he improved. Before that, Capela was also worth his extension without improvement. On the flip side, Jalen's extension was clearly based on potential. Contracts of the former variety are no-doubt wins on the part of the team. The latter ones are all TBD rather than considered immediate wins

You can "think" all you want. Doesn't mean what you are thinking is correct. Salary cap aside, does Brooks and the #10 pick land KD? No, of course not. Green was a massive reason the Suns agreed to that trade.

surprising stat for Jabari from espn article,,,

He's the only player from the 2022 draft class to accumulate 2,500 points and 1,500 rebounds so far in their NBA careers, according to ESPN Research.

Nazi Reid is far better than Jabari but he got the same pay.

    Reid:
    14.2 pts in 27.5 mins with 46.2% and 37.9% in 80 games.

    Jabari:
    12.2 pts in 30.1 mins with 43.8% and 35.4% in 57 games.

    Steal? Lol
    Absolutely overpaid.

This is a great deal for the organization. Even if Smith just improves marginally he probably feels the value here. But there is just a ton of runway for him to get better.

he might not generate offense for others, but there are definitely ways. We can help him to generate better shots for himself.

    Sengun/Adams
    Smith/Finney Smith
    Durant/Eason
    Amen/Cam
    FVV/Reed

    Loaded.

Bari is going to get a lot better in the next t couple yrs. We wanted to be the team that capitalized on that. Not the farm system to develop him for some other team.
