Having Durant there to train him for the next couple of years is icing on the cake. I love this deal. Jabari gets noticeably better every year.

    Hell yeah

I don’t think he’ll be a superstar but believe him and Amen can be a great duo

Unbelievable deal that could look insane in a year or two. Rockets FO winning the offseason.

    Overpaid.

Jabari got 12 pts with 43% and 35% shooting last season.

20m per season is more acceptable.

This is good signing. Fully guaranteed. That means no team option.

Happy to keep him around. He’s a great fit both in terms of basketball and team culture. Despite Jabari’s inconsistency, he’s got a little bit of a clutch gene.

Hes like the anti-Jalen. Has unremarkable numbers and you don’t notice him, then he suddenly hits some big clutch threes under pressure.

    * In 2026-27, Houston is below (projected):

    - Tax: $75M
    - Apron 1: $83M
    - Apron 2: $96M

Plenty of flexibility for a Kevin Durant and Tari Eason extension.

Fans are always about 5 years behind what the actual monetary value of players is. It’s a very reasonable deal that could be a steal if he actually improves.

    Maybe, hope so.

Did you think Jalen was overpaid?

Jabari's defensively impacts our team better than anybody. When he went down we lost alot of games. This is why I cant take you guys seriously

He’s about to spend the entire summer getting more tattoos. I’m giving him a 2 year window, if he can’t become a 20 ppg scorer when Durant leaves, his contract will be easy enough to trade.

Like the signing, but don't love it. Seems reasonable.

I can take 20m because of defense, otherwise 15m or below.

His shooting never meets the expectation.

Jabari's production so far is not worth this. So this contract only make sense if the Rockets think he can develop into a Bridges/OG type. Time will tell how much he develops. If he continues to not develop next season, this can be considered overpaid. But as 3rd pick the Rockets probably are too invested not to do this extension. So at least it's not as big as Jalen's last year

It's a really good deal, not sure how anyone can be mad at it.

It's very tradeable as well if he continues playing at the same level which, I think is his floor in that 12-15ppg on good shooting, a block or so, 8rpg is what we will get from him most likely, that's about the price of a good role player, so tradeable.

Hopefully he outplays his contract though but if he doesn't, very moveable contract.

No, considering he was a major piece that landed us KD.

A player gets paid based on what is expected, not what he's produced. Young player extensions usually suck if the guy doesn't improve, but are worth it if they do. This has some risk, but seems reasonable. Will only be about 12-13% of cap towards the end of the deal.
