I wonder if they might have somebody targeted with Cam Whitmore and Nate Williams as the outgoing money? Or they may be trying to ensure Reed gets minutes, because they still believe in him.
The Rockets have FVV, Reed, Amen, Holiday, Nate. FVV and Amen are better than Tari and JSJ as the SF. I don't see Holiday as much of a downgrade from Green.
Sign him, waive Landale. FVV / Amen / KD / Smith / Sengun Sheppard / Cam / Eason / DFS / Adams Let's go!
We still need someone that can drive into the paint. That's not Reed's game at all. Jalen sucked at it but he still did it. KD has cut out driving to the rim at this stage of his career, and we shouldn't want him to. Can't just depend on Amen to be your primary drive and kick guy..especially when defenders won't respect his jump shot ability.
I think Amen is going to surprise you. I suspect his midrange jumper is going to be a legitimate threat and it will open up driving lanes for him. His ballhandling has tightened up a lot too. They're going to give him the chance to be the play initiator and set up everyone else, I think, and it'll be sink or swim time for him. This is the year. "Third year leap" and all that.
Exactly. I hope the Rockets know something we don't. As in they have faith in Amen becoming a legit playmaker. If not, focusing on a player like DFS is bewildering. DFS would be a luxury to have. The lack of proven playmaking, scoring, and shooting in the backcourt is beyond concerning. Will wait to judge. DFS better not be the only move, but we are running out of moveable contracts to upgrade the backcourt.
Amen did it about 70% as often as Green did it. KD doesn't drive all the way to the paint, but his drive shoot a 15 footer is so much more efficient than the Jalen drive try to score or try to kick game. I feel much more confident in Amen and Durant offensively than Green and Brooks.
If Ime isn’t going to play Cam he might as well be draft pick. and if you can upgrade Jalen and Brooks to Durant and DFS you gotta do it.
both those dudes are irrelevant IMO Jock a 3rd string C, and Cam a bench chucker with attitude who’s not even in the rotation
What we need is what man has been tasked with since the beginning of time… penetration, shooting, and creation
Jock is useless but I wouldn’t give up on Cam just yet. Let’s see a year of playing time, how he reacts. I hate to see him go to the Lakers out of all teams and become a 18-20 ppg player since Luka will make it so easy for him.
I'd prefer to hold out hope for a Cam Johnson trade, but DFS is good depth. Tari and KD can't be relied on
