A conversation has already been had about Walker, which is why he has been dropped down to the bottom third of the order. There have been plenty of conversations on this board concerning Walker having “bad luck”, late start with the oblique injury in spring training, to hard contact right at outfielders, to he’s old, he’s slowed down, his bat speed has diminished, etc. —don’t think there’s any more to discuss. It was a bad signing so far. A half season shouldn’t define his Astros’ career thus far, but it’s difficult to stay positive about the player that is Christian Walker.
Yeah, his knees are an issue....it is just a position that guys can usually filter into, mabye Carantini.....I mean if you want to win a game, you don't play Walker at all. Anything not dead middle and a FB - and he looks overmatched. DD
Yep, about the best I can say is at least he's a huge upgrade defensively. Walker's been such a huge disappointment. He used to be able to crush 97-100 MPH FB's. Now he cant catch up to them to save his life.
In his career he’s always been a lot better against LHP than RHP. The astros lineup being so right handed that we never see LHP has probably hurt him as much or more than anyone.
We are making a crappy mediocre pitcher look good again....sigh.....Framber and Brown have to be frustrated with this lack of Offense. DD
He’s been even worse against LHP this season than RHP. His OPS is below .400 against them if you can believe that.
