Last Sunday was The Big One.

Still, it's good to know Stone is looking at other deals in order to improve the team.

It feels the coach-player relationship between Ime and Cam is at the "got-to-my-car-and-found-the-tires-slashed" phase. Cam + Jock + ? seems likely.

I don’t know about salary implications but I am actually fine with keeping Jock as third string C.

Hearing it goes both ways….Cam has asked out (but doing it professionally) and Udoka doesn’t like coaching him. As a manager, a bad attitude can deflate co-workers and the best thing for all parties involved is to seperate ways.

Yeah, many NBA insiders have their doubts about that, especially after the report that Giannis was “monitoring the Bucks’ draft for signs of them putting a contending team around him…..” which was followed by Bucks exiting draft w/ only a 2nd RD European prospect expected to stay in Europe next year. There’s loud reason to doubt Giannis will remain a Buck any longer than this coming season’s trade deadline. There are even teams banking on that as we speak. The following was reported by Shams just a few days ago:

Shams Charania: “Giannis Antetokounmpo is open-minded and considering other options outside of Milwaukee. He has not requested a trade yet, but he remains open-minded from my understanding. The Bucks, for their part, they’re fully operating like Giannis Antetokounmpo will be back. That’s their messaging to other teams, to free agents when they’re going to go out and sell other free agents come July 1 and sell their own free agents. It’s that Giannis Antetokounmpo is here — let us operate in free agency, operate at the draft, see what moves they can make to get this team better. One thing about Giannis is that he always plays things close to the vest… The moment he feels like in Milwaukee they’re not competing for a championship, he’s going to look around. He has said that on the record.”

I agree somewhat. Cam is a forward though and that is our deepest position. He can play SG but hes not a ball handler. The Rockets have 1 and a 2 possibles ball handlers in Fred, Reed and Amen. Amen not having shown he can shoot is worrisome. Reed has to show he can defend and lead an offense.

It does make some sense to want a dependable ball handler to add to the rotation...especially if they are sour on Cam.

But again, I agree with you... 20 year old with high upside, shown he can get buckets pretty efficiently... Seems we'd be better of with keeping Cam and just using the MLE on a free agent guard.

Trade Landale, Cam, Nate and the 27 phoenix pick for Olynk and the 26 phoenix pick. Then sign Jerome with NT-MLE. Still under the 1st apron. Have the combo guard we need and added depth at center and PF in case of energy. Eventually Amen, Jerome, KD, Jabari, Sengun. Reed, Tari, Olynyk, Adam’s, FVV and probably a top 5 frp in 26. Washington does it for Cam and lottery pick in 27.

I guess this is for sign-and-trade deal. Give his new team time to decide if they want to keep or waive him.

I don't think we can trade him if we don't opt in to his contract for next year. His next team won't be able to trade for him and then waive him. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I would just stick with adding Jerome with the NT-MLE and retain Cam for another season or until the upcoming February trade deadline.

I think I see where this is heading. It's going to be Landale and Whitmore for Dylan Harper. San Antonio needs real depth at the C position and since Landale is Wemby Light and with Cam being able to play 3/4 for forward depth and S.A. doesn't need another guard it's a no brainer for both sides!

Another huge win for Stone Cold Raf Houston!

And we’re left with only Amen who is athletic and can get downhill by getting rid of both Jalen and Cam. We’re going to get older and slower which I don’t like.

I'm assuming this is for a move, but is there really any kind of significant move we can make with a player of that level/contract? Hopefully brings back a valuable vet piece, I'm confused I actually thought we were already waiving him.

Yes. Landale is not getting $8M on the open market. Pushing the date back gives the Rockets time to work on a trade, meaning he will get to make $8M this year. Everyone wins.

His contract is not team option. It became guaranteed after 6/29 if not waive (now push back to 7/7). I think we can still trade him even when his contract is not guaranteed.

If we guarantee it yes.......but right now a team could trade for him then let him walk and save 8m which if they are in the Luxury tax could be upwards of 20m saved.

Yea, Jock and Cam are definitely being moved for a backup to KD. I assume it's going to be a scorer in case KD gets injured or is on rest days.

FWIW, this was done in another thread, but if you check the actual numbers, Durant "gets downhill" more often, and more effectively than Jalen Green (despite the Suns team getting downhill less often than the Rockets).

So we have actually improved on that front, despite the age increase.

If we want a bouncy young dude with an unfinished game, we can always add MarJon Beauchamp as a min salary guy.
