Lonzo to the Cavs for Okoro to the Bulls. I don't see Coby White being moved, but Ty Jerome might become available in free agency.
Apparently Ty Jerome is expected to move on from the Cavs after they traded for Lonzo and chose to extend Sam Merrill. Unless last season was a complete fluke, Ty Jerome would be a ginormous upgrade over Cam.
I saw a YouTube video from some Cleveland pundits saying that the cavs value Jerome at 10 million a year. They wanted to offer a 3yr deal for 30 because it was what TJ in Indiana was getting. I think Houston could definitely get Ty Jerome.
from my perspective, any 1st round pick for Cam is worth it if he’s not gonna get rotational minutes. I’ve always said, play him or trade him, but don’t sit him and further torpedo his value like last season. I’m fascinated with what his return will end up being.
Cam and Ty play at the different positions. The Rockets can retain both of them, if Jerome agrees to sign for the Rockets with the NT- MLE. Jerome might not want to come here with FVV and RS though, unless he's willing to play as an off guard and a secondary passer.
Fred and Reed can play as on or off the ball guards. Ty Jerome would fit with either. But, certainly, he may prefer other teams over the Rockets. Pistons, Kings and Magic are also mentioned as possible destinations. It may depend how much he values competing for a championship and tax savings.
I trust that if Ime and Stone want Whitmore gone, they know what they’re doing, But it sure feels like it would be a mistake.
I feel like it depends on if he wants to be here. I suspect he doesn’t. And if that’s the case I don’t see the upside of holding onto him. But I agree it would be a mistake to trade Cam if he wanted to be here and was willing to earn his playing time. Only the org really knows.
Jock Landale's 8m contract will be unusable - as the Rockets are not picking up the Team option unless he is included in trade. DD
