Why does everyone assume lance is going to get shelled tomorrow. He has one bad game since he's been back and he can strike people out with the best of them.
Let's recap the law firm of Walter, Gusto, Gordon and Alexander. 26 Starts 0 Runs (3) 1 Run (5) 2 Runs (9) 3 Runs (5) 4 Runs (1) 5 Runs (1) 7 Runs (2) In 22 of the 26 starts, they have given up 3 runs or fewer. That is pretty damn amazing.
He's got a 3.20 ERA over his last 5 starts in which we have won 4 of those games. We can go back and forth on this one. We need Junior. He's gonna be great for us if he stays healthy.
Can't believe my fking eyes.....have had that feeling watching Astros for long period time now. Like when you get once in lifetime wonderful godrun in Vegas and you keep getting win after win after win. I have to remember this joy and also how shitty Texas & Seattle are when we have the losing streak and try to not b*tch as much then. Trammell or whats his name should't be playing. Give the AB's to anyone else....anyone. Sousa looks great, maybe a time to give King breather on those crucial spots 6-8 innings. After yesterdays Phillies win their post game was bashing Phillies and one of the dudes said: "could't believe, what where Astros thinking bringing King again and yes he proceeds to try to give the game to us but....." So he has had wonderful season but is bit off now. Let's not do a Espada here and run bit fatigued/feeling off pitcher 7 days straight to give him confidence. Let him rest a bit, our pitching department is the best, they will get him right. Pitching in general. These guys like Walter and Gordon stuffwise don't look world beaters but they are lefties and can throw strikes and gave that competing attitude that I like. If we are thinking Lance and guys coming off TJ, especially how Javier looked b4 TJ, I would run these hot hand lefties prob even in post season (if not too tired then) b4 guys coming back and Lance. We usually win with 3 runs and prob Lance gives that 4 in 5 innings so hope that contracts don't ruin our run this season. On Tucker trade. Cam will come a beast. Only way Cubs get draw from trade is by winning WS or signing Tucker for long term. Go Stros!!
I watched the entire extras innings portion of the game between the Rangers and Mariners with the Seattle team telecast. I've decided I definitely hate the Mariners more than the Rangers.
They said he only had one bad start which isn’t true. And he didn’t even make it out of the 5th inning two of those other 5 starts. We’ll find out tomorrow but this Cubs lineup is a different animal. They are somewhat vulnerable to LHP because PCA and Busch can’t hit them.
Cam Smith HAS to be in contention for ROY. That kid has potential to be a Tucker, Alvarez, Stanton, Judge, Springer… we’re witnessing something special as he grows for the Stros in his first season in the bigs. He’s FL made to Be Someone in Htown. Ceiling doesnt have a cap yet. He proves he can raise the floor game after game... consistency & striving to be the best— this dude is a special kind of talent. IMO, we won that trade (lefty bat or not)… we have 2 producers who fit right into the clubhouse, atmosphere & culture… We could (should) sweep the Cubs and hopefully the Rockies as well (…looking forward to offensive output — above sea level). Team has been cooking as of late & its incredible with whom we’re relying upon to let their nuts hang & get out there, do the deal, secure the W. Impressive season thus far!
Would it be stupid to just bring Lance back after the all star break? Just to save the miles on his rekt arm?
Cam Smith has really impressed me. Fantastic to think we have him under control for 6 more years. No offense to Tucker but 6 years of cost controlled Smith for one year of Tucker is looking like an extremely good trade right now.
So far, when the focus is highest, Cam performs best. Clutch hits, revenge HRs. That is the primary skill he has that Tucker lacks.
