This is well thought out and well written. I don't think the Rockets would make a trade for a future pick until they fill the hole at SG/SF they currently have that would be even bigger with the loss of Cam - we just traded 2 starting wing players to get 1 back - if they are looking to move him, I don't believe it will be for a future pick in any way, but only if they have a deal for a player like Grimes, or someone like him. They are in WIN NOW mode, they aren't interested in whom we are picking in 2029, or 8, or .....they want to compete now - and as such, Cam is ready to at least an extent - unless they get someone that is a big upgrade, I don't see them moving him. And, honestly, he does things that only STAR players do, like blocking from behind - he literally clearly can be huge if he gets his maturity together. DD
I think Iko seems like a good dude and I really appreciate him engaging us fans directly coming on playback etc. However Iko typically is speaking only what the Rockets front office wants him to say. Which is telling to me that it’s almost certainly the rocket who want his name out there rather than other teams burning up the phone trying to get him. I personally want the Rockets to give him another shot now that Jalen and Brooks are out but it seems as though the team still thinks it’s best to move him out. I guess that means they likely have veterans they are looking to sign that they think will beat him out for minutes. And they might think that if Cam isn’t starting (which he won’t be over Amen and likely Tari) he’s still going to be unsatisfied and be an issue.
It'll just be another one for the list of nonsense made up narratives this offseason like. "Ime's on the hotseat, he's to blame for the playoffs" and "FVV will be the centerpiece of our big trade" lmao.
I think it is emblematic of Ime's emphasis on culture. Work ethic and character are vital to be a Rocket.
Cam is the only player who can give us instant offense on this team. KD is great but you can't let him do all work.
Why? The rest of the league is looking at him like a steal if this is true. I would never trade Cam at this point because I can’t get much for him and he only make $3 million. Cam will definitely playing backup SG this year if it was up to me.
