Folks aren’t gonna like this, but I see the return Denver got for Bones Hyland as the proxy for the value we get for Cam: two 2nd round picks. If Stone can exceed that (in player or pick form) he’s doing his job. Cam has damaged his value a lot with his public comments and attitude. Teams were scared to take him in 2023 because of these concerns and many will feel vindicated. The teams that are still willing to roll the dice on his talent will low ball. We’re unlikely to get a return worthy of his talent.

See this right there is why I believe that he won't be traded until at least December.

I don't think we should be trading a 20 year old player unless there is some great return.

His value has to be pretty low right now, so why do it?

If we can get a good player back, sure, do it. But if its going to be for filler....nah. Be 100% sure of what we are giving away before we do it.

I think Iko talks a lot to the Rockets. Sometimes they give him smoke. It will always be red tinted info.

On matching salaries, the Rockets could trade Cam for anyone making $5.7M or less pretty easily using TP-MLE to avoid first apron hard cap.

I probably wouldn't trade Cam for him without a FRP coming to Rockets as well, but Keon Ellis is a player that matches well with Cam's salary. He doesn't have the upside of Cam, but he plays defense and shoots.

Seems like Cam never able to adjust his play for the teams need. Well good luck for him on a next team and hopefully we can get some kind of return.

I agree with you that he played good defense in the stretch you described. Also, I’d love for Whitmore to work out in Houston, as the Rockets could use a player with his offensive skillset.

That said, this isn’t college or high school anymore. Every player on an NBA roster can play, and coaches are going to play the guys they trust will play within the team structure offensively and defensively. There seems to be a disconnect between what Udoka and his assistants want from Whitmore, and what Whitmore thinks he should be doing.

Is he on the trading block or is it that other teams just want him to be? Big difference. Rockets need to keep Cam for now. Durant is about to make everyone around him better because he draws so much attention. All Cam needs to do is do what he does best - hit open shots and cut to the rim.

Go back and watch some highlights if you need a reminder of what he's capable of. Some of y'all forget that young players aren't a finished product. It's called development for a reason. Amen, Cam, Jabari, Tari, Sengun and Reed will all be better next season.

Once Cam screws his head on and realizes 3-point shooting is his ticket to a long and lucrative NBA career, he'll be fine. As long as he has delusions of grandeur of being an entitled star who can score every time he touches the ball no matter what, forget it.

For his sake, I hope he figures it out before the NBA discards him.

I'd rather Cam be a team player and keep him. The why. You'd have to ask Cam and Ime.

Calm down this is nothing new. Who knows if Cam is on the block or not, but it is logical that he is not off limits. Cam, Landale, and Nate can you get you NTMLE like deal. It very well could happen and depending on the player it might be the right thing to do. I think we desperately need a sg/sf or combo guard that can shoot and play defense to round out this team for this season. If Cam has to be included for a youngish vet like Coby White or like, so be it. If we are aiming higher Reed may have to be included.

Cam isn't getting an unprotected first in 2026 unless another team screws up Pelicans-style. I think Rockets are going to try to get picks in 27, 29, and 31. To allow maximum trade value, it is beneficial for the Rockets to be able to trade all picks in 26, 28, 30, and 32. Having it in an odd year gives the Rockets more flexibility to make trades like the 2nd best of the 27 PHX, Nets, and Team X pick.

If Atlanta was stupid enough to give us the NOP 26 frp they just got it would be a slam dunk, but Atlanta would laugh in our place. Cam is going to struggle to get minutes once again.

Jock, Cam and Brooklyn 27 swap for Grimes works. If my math is correct I believe this also keeps us under the first apron as well.

I’d take John Collins for Cam and filler in a heartbeat. DD is panicking just at the mention of Cam being traded. LOL.
