Anyone recall a team scoring only 5 runs in a three game series and sweeping the series? Testament to how really fortunate we are to have the pitching staff we have. They can't keep this up can they?

With so many of our hitters, Walker, Diaz, and others under performing and who knows when Yordan comes back, it will be interesting to see if we continue to be blessed with this level of pitching throughout the remainder of the year. Excited about the years Pena, Paredes, Cam Smith, and Meyers are having but some of the others need to step up and take some of the pressure off the pitching staff.

Which is why they need to pay Framber. They also need to look at extending Diaz now that he's not tearing it up, along with Pena.

Hunter and Framber are the rocks on which this team stands.

    Crazy talk.

You pitch Abreu Wednesday (dude had thrown a jillion pitches in the past week)...no Abreu Thursday. So now who are you rolling out?

You absolutely do not manage games in June like you would in Sept/Oct

Getting the starting pitching healthy and moving Gusto to the bullpen to give multiple innings is going to make this pitching staff even better.

Unless you've got Dotel/Lidge/Wagner or something equivalent there's no such thing as a "7th inning guy".

    It's matchups and who's available.

Yep, usually it would be matchups but we’ve got three similar lefty relievers so it should just be who is throwing the best out of those three. If Dubin is healthy he should be in the mix too though.

I have dreams, vivid dreams, of either LMJ or Javier being a nasty boy out of the pen later this year

That is interesting, I wonder if their arms would hold up? Every 5th or 6th day is different than every other....but I like the thinking.

LMJ already said before he came back he didn't want to be a reliever, and he thought that role would not be easier on his arm than starting. In the playoffs, we've seen him be devastating in relief. But I don't think he's going to do it in the regular season.

First time the Astros have swept a Series against the Phillies since 2010 when they were still in the NL. A series that included a 16 inning game in which Astros Legend Pitcher Roy Oswalt played LF for the Phillies.

Mariners fans are some of the most pessimistic, fatalistic fans on the face of the earth. It's really fun to watch.

It's actually a great sports town. Watching OKC win a chip had to have been tough.
