Biggest winners: Mavs, Spurs, Atlanta Nico Harris saves his job, Spurs get two studs to help Wemby, Atlanta can end up with a lotto pick in 2026. Biggest losers: Nets, Toronto Toronto chose a rich man's Jsean Tate. Nets had 5 picks but I think most of their picks are reaches including Demin at 8.
Maluach offsets the questionable trade for Mark Will. One of the best big prospects. Carter Bryant, Sorber ....solid in disguise.
LOL after all that this will be a very active draft in terms of trades this is it? And these youngsters desperately need media coaching. Cannot show your disappointment when they call your name and or look angry on stage!
Fleming is too raw. Again, the draft is almost cooked. You're drafting players just to develop them for another team by this point. Immediate contributors or observe from the sidelines. We payed a lot of money just to develop Green for the Suns.
Potential Intel on the 2nd round: At pick 36 Nets looking to draft an oversized point guard who can't shoot. "Ya'll got any more of dem.... big point guards?"
Feel like all the best players went to the West. Silver needs to change the format and get rid of conferences.
With the Bulls looking to trade Coby White, it would be good for the Rockets to explore trading him for the NT-MLE. He has good size, can play both guard spots, and would be a great spark off the bench or a starter next to FVV (in case Udoka keeps Jabari on the bench). Coby is due an extension for next year, so we may not be able to keep him, but he would be give us some more sure talent at the guard spot for this year. Don't want to risk it with Reed and Cam if they just don't have it. We can give the Bulls future draft compensation plus instant cap relief.
Thoughts on the draft: 1. I'm not sure which front office is worse between the Phoenix Suns and the Portland Trail Blazers. They both seem to be collecting big men. Super weird. 2. Maluach is nearly as bad as people on this board are suggesting, but he's in a terrible situation. 3. Thomas Sorber will be the name that people remember out of many of these big men. 4. Someone will get C Kalkbrenner in the 2nd round and be very happy. 5. Four first-round picks for the Nets? Will anyone learn that it's impossible to trade up in the draft by packaging multiple lower-first-round picks? I like Denim, Traore, and Saraf (as someone who semi-keeps up with international players). But all on the same team? Wolf seems like a rotation guy. 6. The Miami Heat would like to thank other GMs for coveting other big men to gift them KJ.
Meh, I still think they made the right move. Maluach was BPA, and they aren’t really in a place to use perhaps their last lottery pick for a while on “fit.” And, frankly, they landed Mark Williams for a song. Two crappy FRPs, man. That’s a darn good trade for them.
Maluach was a good pick for 2 or 3 years from now. Wasting some of the few FRP’s they have on Williams was stupid. He is a walking injury and even when he played last year, he sucked. I was fearful Phoenix would actually be able to use the picks and Jalen to improve and thought we might need to sell our Phoenix picks sooner rather than later, but I underestimated what an idiot their GM and owner are. Unless Jalen just goes bonkers or they find a team to bail them out, they are going to be really bad.
