The similarity stops with age. Jalen had the keys to the offense from the get go but we all know how that went

Jalen Green disappeared in 6 games out of the 7 against the Warriors. Remember Durant rejected Curry. The Warriors wanted to trade for him last year, but Durant said no reunion. Who believes Mike Dunleavy Jr is running the Warriors?!?!?!?

advanced stats merchants who view the game via spreadsheets and bball ref/random acronyms like RPM/LEBRON/RAPTOR or whatever they're coming out with these days are the ones who massively underrate the type of impact KD can have here and the level of player that he still is

his ESP is 2.8...his EBT is 1.4...soon they'll be talking about somebody's POOP/36

the upgrade from Jalen Green to KD will be legendary...I haven't been this excited about a season since the summer we acquired CP3

Dude, not wanting to be a total stat watcher but he moved much better before the injury, maybe he got wiser and picked his spots because he had to.

He stopped playing reckless and his playing radius was decreased .....he is also someone that fits the team, Suns were horrible defensively and he was bad defensively for his non defensive team standards, so here he would be okay defensively.

POOP (Player Offensive Output Potential) is an extraordinarily strong indicator.

    Definition:

POOP is a highly theoretical metric designed to measure a basketball player’s potential to score or assist, not based on actual results, but based on how “explosive” and ridiculously promising they look while playing — even if they don’t deliver.

    Formula:

    Code:
    POOP = (Iso Looks + Flashy Dribble Moves + Step-Back Attempts + Heat-Check Shots)
÷ (Actual Points + Assists + Turnovers + Floor Burns)
    Note:
    • A high POOP score means the player looks like a superstar… but rarely delivers.
    • A low POOP score means the player actually contributes meaningfully, so their “potential” is already fulfilled.
    POOP Stat Ranges:
    • 0-5: Efficient, no-nonsense players
    • 6-10: Your average volume shooter
    • 11-15: Certified Heat-Check Merchant
    • 16-20: YMCA Kobe (thinks he’s elite, never passes)
    • 21+ : Max POOP: Looks like MJ, plays like a meme
    Examples:
    • Nick Young (Swaggy P): POOP ~ 18.7
Constant heat checks. Legendary confidence. Results? Ehh.
    • J.R. Smith: POOP ~ 16.4
Could drop 30 or forget the score. Big POOP energy.
    • Jordan Poole (Wizards Era): POOP ~ 20.9
The unofficial POOP MVP. Looks like he’s auditioning for Space Jam 3.
    • Tim Duncan: POOP ~ 2.3
      Fundamental. Quiet. Low POOP.

    Advanced POOP Metrics:
    • POOP+: Adjusted for league pace and team context
    • cPOOP (Clutch POOP): Measures potential during crunch time
    • POOP-Minus: Penalizes players for high potential but repeated bad decisions
    • fPOOP: “Fake POOP” – inflated by highlight reels and Twitter clips only

SHIITScoring, Hustle, Impact, Intelligence, and Tenacity
    Definition:
SHIIT is a composite stat designed to evaluate a player's overall effectiveness by blending efficiency, effort, IQ, and intangibles. It aims to measure not just how much a player contributes on the stat sheet, but how and why those contributions matter.

    SHIIT Formula (scaled 0–100)
    SHIIT=(PPE×1.5)+(HGR×1.2)+(OII×1.1)+(TQ×1.3)+(WIM×1.4)6.5\text{SHIIT} = \frac{(PPE \times 1.5) + (HGR \times 1.2) + (OII \times 1.1) + (TQ \times 1.3) + (WIM \times 1.4)}{6.5}SHIIT=6.5(PPE×1.5)+(HGR×1.2)+(OII×1.1)+(TQ×1.3)+(WIM×1.4)
    Where:

    • PPE = Points Per Expected Possession
(Measures scoring efficiency based on role and shot quality)

    • HGR = Hustle Grind Rate
(Loose balls recovered + contested rebounds + deflections per 36 mins)

    • OII = Offensive Intelligence Index
(Weighted assist-to-turnover ratio + off-ball screen effectiveness + spacing impact)

    • TQ = Tenacity Quotient
(Defensive pressure + box outs + floor dives / fouls committed)

    • WIM = Wins Impact Metric
(Adjusted net rating when on/off court, factored by clutch performance)
    Example
    Draymond Green SHIIT (2023–24):

    • PPE: 0.98

    • HGR: 7.6

    • OII: 8.9

    • TQ: 9.1

    • WIM: 8.7
      SHIIT Score = 86.4
    Trae Young SHIIT (2023–24):

    • PPE: 1.12

    • HGR: 3.1

    • OII: 7.8

    • TQ: 4.6

    • WIM: 6.3
      SHIIT Score = 67.5
    Why It Matters
SHIIT helps you separate stat padders from real impact players. It captures hustle and IQ alongside scoring efficiency—valuable in understanding glue guys, elite defenders, or high-IQ playmakers who don’t always lead in box score stats.

    top 20 in nba:

    • 1. Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander
    • Dyson Daniels
    • Draymond Green
    • Cade Cunningham
    • Jayson Tatum
    • Alex Caruso
    • Tyrese Haliburton
    • Jimmy Butler
    • OG Anunoby
    • Scottie Barnes
    • Matisse Thybulle
    • Gary Trent Jr.

    • Dejounte Murray
    • Amen Thompson
    • Paul George

That's weird, I feel like these folks are actually the ones underscoring how little Durant has fallen off. And it's the people who aren't like that who are like DOOF DOOOF DOOOF HE'S AARP.

I know we weren't favored against the Warriors, and they were probably the toughest opponent in our path to the WCF... and we almost beat them. Took them to seven with a couple very close losses. Just a few more balls bouncing our way flips that series. Let alone if we got a little bit luckier with playoff matchups. That's why I'm saying a little bit of luck could have turned the tide, and given us a very different playoff run. At which point, who knows what we'd be doing this summer.

I'm not saying the Rockets were close to a title, but we were already a good team. Even being good enough to have a good shot at the 2nd round in the West is really good in the grand scheme... For Durant to be a meaningful upgrade, we should now at least be in contention for a title.

Of course anyone can get injured, who said otherwise? But the odds are unquestionably higher with someone like Durant than with a young player, and there is limitless data to prove this, including that from Durant's recent past. To me, that much is not even debatable.

I will concede your point about winning after Durant, though. Even if Durant doesn't get us a title, our young guns will probably continue to grow, and we just might grab a ring even after he's done. At that point, no one would be concerned about Durant's impact, or whether or not the trade was a "success".
