IF he would like to come back...definitely bring back him for depth. He can give a solid 15 to 20 minutes off the bench. He does not need athleticism for his mid-range game and his leadership and decision-making is invaluable. Let's be real, it will be a long season and the Rockets play very gritty, so giving load management to our vets would be a good idea.

 

The owner of the Rockets hates Chris Paul - which lead to the owner forcing the Westbrook trade, which lead to the team blowing up. It was embarrassing for the owner. It was very poorly handled and he supposedly has said as much privately and that lead to him being less involved in the day-to-day decisions. There is zero chance of the owner wanting to bring Paul back - and even less chance of Paul wanting to come back.

The Rockets already have their back up point guard on the roster, they spent a very high lottery pick on Reed Sheppard. He will get minutes.

The idea that the Rockets should bring in Kevin Porter Jr. is absurd. Ime doesn't want any part of that, the players on the roster don't want that walking cold sore around them - and the GM doesn't want his massive failure paraded all around the Toyota Center.

The Rockets may add another combo or shooting guard - to replace Green, but it isn't going to be Paul or Porter Jr.

Chris Paul is 40 while being undersized. Even if he manages to stay healthy, he's better off the court than on it.

I don't mind him bench-riding to a chip, but we're not the team that's gonna do that for him.

20 minutes?! That's a lot. Reed averaged 4mpg last year. Reed and Cam couldn't get off the bench. At some point, they gotta get those dudes some minutes.

It’s total BS. I’ve been a Rockets fan forever but if they brought that jerkoff back I would lose some respect for the team. Plenty of other guys out there they can bring rather then stirring that doo doo again.
