I know a lot of people are going to be upset with who I want but I think he will be a good pickup. I think they need to pickup KPJ and here is why. We only have two playmakers on the team with the signing of FVV. And that's FVV and Amen. Reed is more of a scorer, so is Holiday. If either FVV or Amen get hurt, who else do we have as a playmaker in the backcourt? In addition, KPJ is great and catch and shooting. He would serve several purposes.
There are a few minimum level vet guards out there that can be interesting Holiday upgrades. Aside from CP3 there's Schroeder, Dinwiddie and Brogdon as PG options then for a more offball role guys like Trent, Kennard, Seth Curry, Keon Ellis, Gary Harris. I think the core 9 man roster is good to go but it's nice to have extra vets on the bench who don't expect to play every single game so that we can rest KD on back to backs and don't have to play anyone too many minutes.
As much as I like his skillset which is exactly what we are missing, I think that ship has sailed. DD
Did they? I mean I would love to see him under Ime, but we don't have room right now in playing time, who sits? Cam? Reed? I would rather roll with what we have. DD
I actually like it but not more than the vet min. By signing him to a vet min, we still have space to sign someone for the MLE if I am not mistaken. Worth a shot especially when we sell a potential championship run to him. KD might be willing to help negotiate as well edit: we only do this if we let go of Aaron Holiday. I trust having CP3 over Holiday any day
CP 3 years agowould have been perfect, just enough leadership and calming the storm but I think he is near retirement. Maybe lockerroom presence?
Cp3 is a money faced mercenary who prioritize 9M in salary over winning a ring. He would rather play for a doormat team like Spurs if it meant 9M more than going to a team like Nuggets or Lakers where he can get his ring even if the dude already has several hundred M in his bank account. You dont want that guy in the locker room because no 1 he is annoying and toxic, guys like Blake Griffin said they ended up hating Cp3 cuz he is barking all the time. Secondly we have a team full of guys who took discounts to stay on the team, guys like Sengun, Adams, FVV these guys took discounts. If you add money hungry Cp3 to this team he is gonna influence everyone to get as much money as possible. Amen gonna want the super max with NTC and player option, Durant gonna want his 60M per year etc Just think about it if he is a good influence why will spurs let him go? They about to get Dylan Harper and have Aaron Fox Cp3 would be perfect to mentor them. I am sure if NO offers Cp3 the midlevel exception he goes and plays for NO over going to the Lakers. Dude is all about the bag.
For someone who loves to get rid of guys after 1 or 2 years of experience, you sure love to bring back guys that are 1 or 2 years away from playing chess in the parks for fun..
