Good trade for Washington...they got out of the Jordan Poole contract for CJ McCollum expiring contract.
When the Pels traded for CJ McCollum because he brought "veteran leadership" and would help them close games, I literally LOLed. They were pillaged by the Blazers. They must not have been paying attention because the guy is nothing more than an older, more mature, better shooting, articulate, smaller, still-horrific-defending, PG version of Jalen that wouldn't do much of anything to make them better. Now they are dumping him for broken bottles and smashed aluminum cans. They get owned yet again, this time by the idiot Wizards They must really want to get rid of him because his contract is expiring. Probably could have gotten at least some value by waiting for the Feb '26 trade deadline.
CJ's is an old guy now and I do think he could be a great spark plug off the bench. I have no doubt he'll end up on a contender in that role no later than next February. His defense is soooo bad though; always has been. He and Dame were probably one of the worst defensive starting backcourts ever.
Washington doesn't have any direction at all...they just need to acquire as many assets as possible and try trading for a foundational player at February trade deadline
I see it for Washington but not so much for New Orleans. Some could argue that we wasted the first 2 years of development for Jalen because we just let him and KPJ do whatever they wanted and pick up bad habits. Having the president of the player's union over there can help those kids mature a bit as professionals. No idea what NO is doing though, but it's been that way for a while now.
Poor Kelly gets passed around the league like a …. Seems like he has played for every team at this point.
I always liked CJ . . . .Basically Bradley Beal of the West for years He just never got the Bradley Beal opportunity to shine for a few years and get ridiculously overpaid Rocket River
