Interesting. No Ceilings podcast just said that they had heard Colin Murray Boyles was going to Houston before the Durant trade. I suspected he was a target given his high floor and elite defense. He’s the kind of tough-nosed player Phoenix needs. They’d be smart to draft him at #10.
https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/rockets/article/houston-nba-draft-intel-watch-20383440.php “…the Rockets are exploring options for trading to get back into the draft in the scenario that a player they really like slides down and there is an opportunity to acquire the selection at a low enough price. Sources tell the Houston Chronicle that the Rockets have identified about five prospects, mostly projected first-round picks, who could fit that criteria.”
I would trade the phoenix picks and 1 Rockets frp to Philadelphia if they would take it for no.3. Then pick Edgecomb who I think is going to be the second best player in this draft. Philadelphia would probably say no.
This is my hope. My guess is it's: Murray-Boyles Jakucionis Essengue Bryant Fleming All of whom I'd be very glad with them drafting.
Does anyone else find it odd that there was no draft prospect profile done by Medicine N Music this year? Maybe he already knew we were trading the #10 pick for KD?
this makes me happy. No idea what we’d give up to move back into this draft, but I love the idea of continuing to add young talent. The only guy I know for sure the rockets absolutely love is Collin Murray Boyles. I doubt he falls out of the lotto though. Very interested to know who else the rockets like, even if they are ultimately unsuccessful getting back into the draft. Someone always falls.
Let's be honest he's a lot more credible than some of the people claiming to be an insider lol. I would not at all be surprised if he's a real one with how on the money his threads are.
I wonder trading back into the draft with what? Does that mean Stone is willing to part ways with Cam?
If Nets don't trade up, probably one of their 26/27 picks. I wouldn't be surprised if we trade up with Utah for 21.
I believe we actually still have a couple 2nd round picks left as well as Landale and Holiday’s combined $13 mil in non-guaranteed contracts, which could represent meaningful savings to some team. It’s not much but it may be enough to get back into the late 1st round. Honestly that’s all I can come up with. I guess we could trade one of our own first round picks in a non-swap yr, which are likely to be late 1st rounders anyway, but would want to be mindful of the Stepien Rule so we aren’t restricted in potential future draft pick trades if an amazing opportunity materializes down the road.
Just pretend we just drafted cam Whitmore and reed sheppard. Im quite positive whoever we drafted this draft wouldn't b as intriguing as watching these two get more mins
If possible, I'd love to see Stone via Tillman buy a 2nd rounder, and try to snag a prospect that drops. Maybe there's something we can do with Jeenathan, and his contract which has guaranteed money next year. Maybe take another player back, and snag a 2nd rounder in the process. Jeenathan has no future in the NBA. Sorry. Let's give his garbage minutes to a prospect.
