Anyone else hoping the Rockets trade Whitmore and a future 1st and get back into the draft somewhere in the top 15?
That's who I would target as well. Now that Green is officially out of the lineup we have a perfect spot for Tre or Kon and actually get them some playing time.
Trading away Brooks and Green solved a lot of the minutes jam. I really like both those guys, but as they say, you gotta give something to get something. I am actually okay, with sitting out the draft this season. Not that I wouldn’t want additional talent in the team, but several of the guys were not getting playing time due to a veteran roster. Sengun / Adams / Landale Smith / Eason / Green (Jeff) Thompson / Whitmore Durant / Sheppard Vanvleet / Holiday As it stands now, the team looks very impressive on paper. It has all the defensive prowess (Durant is no slouch on defense), Brooks minutes are going to be going back to Jabari Smith Jr., it has the important 3 1/2 quarter offense of last season. And with Durant now, they have a finisher..
I would trade cam with nique clifford. While cam has all the potential, in our team niq would fit much better
Durant is not a shooting guard. Sheppard for very limited minutes can play there . Thompson will start at SG Thompson can play 4 spots defensively. Eason and Thompson will see time at small forward and PF in some situations. Durant can play at PF if needed. Jeff Green should go in favor of someone who can play SF/SG. That's where our gap is. 6-4 to 6-6 swing player. Sengun / Adams / Landale Smith / Eason / Green (Jeff) Durant Thompson / Whitmore Vanvleet / Sheppard / Holiday
The Suns were 3-17 without Kevin Durant during the season and Stone managed to keep their unprotected first round picks in 2027 & 2029. Odds are the Suns are going to be even worse next season with Jalen Green. We are going to have a treasure trove of assets in the upcoming years not to mention our own first round picks. This was a masterclass by Rockets management.
You may be right about this. I want Cam to succeed but he'll need to show a lot more maturity for it to come together.
I like what I see from Cam Whitmore, at least physical talent wise. But I wonder how coachable he is? Sometime he reminds me of the showboat on the playground, the one who snickers at the notion of playing team basketball. If he is truly a knucklehead, I hope the Rockets trade him and salvage some value, if there is any to salvage. with that said, would Cam Whitmore garner a draft pick in the 20’s as compensation? Or do y’all think his stock has dropped him down to a a second rounder return? But maybe I’m just cynical, does anyone believe the Whitmore can get a pick in the team or better?
Danielle says Stone is looking to get back into the draft https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/rockets/article/houston-nba-draft-intel-watch-20383440.php "That being said, the Rockets are exploring options for trading to get back into the draft in the scenario that a player they really like slides down and there is an opportunity to acquire the selection at a low enough price. Sources tell the Houston Chronicle that the Rockets have identified about five prospects, mostly projected first-round picks, who could fit that criteria. If that happens, the player drafted is likely to be a high-upside depth piece on a Houston roster set to return most of its playoff rotation."
