Our shooting will be better because KD is a better shooter. It will. Be Jabari Fred and KD spreading the floor. Amen playing the dunker spot which he excels at with senhub. Spacing will be just fine. As Bari and KD are better shooters than Jalen and Brooks, also gives us more length and play making. Win win,

If they play it out right, yes. Many people’s dream of Amen at point could slide FVV to backup pg. Start Cam and KD on the wings with Bari and Sengun as your bigs. This wouldn’t happen to start the season but could develop by the time playoffs rolls around.

Durant shot a little better from 3 than Brooks last year. Not talking total offensive package, just spacing.

So swapping Jalen who is bad for Amen who is close to a nothing would be less spacing.

Amen was already playing. You are swapping Jalen with Jabari. Our shooting will be fine. No one in the world thinks KD and Brooks are the same type of shooter but you....

You leave out that you now bring Jabari back in who is a very good shooter.

    Sengun
    Jabari
    KD
    Amen
    FVV

is a better shooting squad than

    Sengun
    Amen
    Brooks
    Jalen
    FVV

Amen was already in the starting lineup. H

Jabari is likely to be a starter again so thats who youd have to account for replacing someone. Its a wash with Jalen's 3pt percentage.

And id actually bet money that both KD and Jabari shoot better than Dillon and Jalen next season.

Not even close as far us now having better spacing. And I love stats, but I also realize games arent played on a stat sheet.

People are not closing out on Brooks the same way they are on KD. They arent shading towards Dillon like they are on KD. Dillons gravity is not in the same realm of reality as KDs. Dillon may have had a career year shooting the 3, but to imply that the spacing will be about the same (or worse) based on KD having shot a little better than hin from three last year is a wild reach.

Biggest thing is we no longer have to have FVV "take over" when JG is off because JG isnt here anymore. That literally cannot be a thing with Durant here. It simply won't exist. The days of FVV 20 FGAs is over because we have an actual scorer now.

I never really considered him gone. I guess if you're considering Jabari for Jalen...

Its exciting to address our need for a pure scorer with one of the best to ever do it.

    Just what the doctor ordered.

By "back" I'm saying with Jabari back in the starting lineup, he got replaced by Amen. Now with Brooks and Jalen off the team, it should be KD and Jabari filling those spaces. What position everyone plays is kind of irrelevant.

I understand, but i still saw it as he's filling in because Jabari got hurt.

My preference is to play Amen off the bench but the most minutes on the team. Have FVV play 20 a night and the rest of the time have Amen at PG...

Amen can backup 4 spots. I can't say that about Cam, Reed, or some other bench player.

I just don't care about "starter" more than minutes played.

Out of respect for FVV he can start but I want him to be backup by playoffs... the future is Amen breaking the defense on drives and being surrounded by shooters.

We saw this in the playoffs...

Yep. I said it in another thread. FVV shot a lot less when Jalen was having a hot game. KD is like Jalen's hot game every game.

Bari is not a better shooter than Brooks, but im cool with the trade. You could also see Thompson getting to his mid range spots because of his explosion.

Amen is one of your best players, he's not going to the bench, he's starting in Jalen old spot. Not only that, he's a great defender. Smith or Eason will take over Brooks spot. I was looking at splits and Eason is better as a starter and Smith is better as a bench player

So when I say he should start at PG but won't because of FVV you think I don't like him?

When I say he should lead the team in minutes it's because I think he's no good, right?

The reason you start Amen is so he can guard the opposing team’s best perimeter player regardless of position. Playing him 34 mins does not make up for the fact that his defensive acumen is what makes him special beyond every other starter in the league other than maybe Wemby. If he spending his time coming off the bench it may help his personal offensive game, but dramatically impacts his defensive contribution. If we had a reasonable coach, Amen would be the starting PG and FVV (a pretty good defender) would be coming off the bench. We could sign another outside shooting combo guard or SG to start, if Reed or Cam can’t do the job.
