I think Tari will likely start when KD sits or has an injury. However either way he’s got a chance now to really solidify a role. They’ll need some perimeter playmaking more than anything though. We’ll see how well he improves in the offseason on passing and playmaking. If Cam lets a vet like Holiday win minutes over him I think the front office will pull their hair out. Clearly he is being given a chance assuming he’s not traded in another deal.
I think we trade for one more vet, even if just a journeyman. Having Reed, Tari, and Adam’s is a solid 8 man rotation, which is about what Ime likes, but I think they add one more and make Cam earn a rotation spot starting out as #10. I expect Holiday, Landale, and a frp of some sort will be traded or if we pay too much for Fvv they will just let Landale go to stay out of cap hell. Don’t be surprised if they bring back Tate at barely above the minimum which I am in favor of.
Cam Whitmore has averaged 25.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in the 3 games he started in the 2024-2025 season. 58% FG%, 54.5% 3P%
No, just a logical take. I have never been against trading Jalen, but I am unconvinced that Ime is prepared to hand Cam minutes without him earning them, which despite your over the top obsession with him is a very logical outcome.
I think that is reasonable, I am not saying he will be the starter by proxy....probably be Eason or Amen. I am saying Cam has higher upside than Green though. And many like yourself have been SERIOUSLY on the Jalen Green train..... DD
Definitely needs to embrace being a 6th man if he doesn't change his mindset. I mean, he could have a really long career like Jamal Crawford.
I'm with you here. It isn't smart to have FVV, Reed, and Holiday as your primary backcourt options with Cam. It gives up too much size. We need a playoff-experienced guard like Tim Hardaway Jr. or Malcolm Brogdon in this role.
Tate at near the veteran minimum is quite possible. He shot a career best from 3 at 34% and was a sparkplug off the bench in several games last year. Much better player than Nate and would have probable got some minutes in the playoffs if he wasn’t hurt. I don’t care either way, but you could do a lot worse at your 12th man.
If Ime wasn't the coach, I would agree, but he overvalues defense, and undervalues offense, so you have to take away some of his favorites just to balance the team. Tate as a defensive stopper at number 12 on the roster - sure, but not in the top 10. DD
With DB gone, I think Ime will advocate to bring back Tate. Tate is versatile and solid citizen that is valuable in an 82 game season.
