On paper it's perfect.. If we didn't have FVV with this currently constructed roster, we'd be clamoring for someone like him.. He basically came a few years early lol... He's one of the few to make it through the culture changing phase on a team and not be traded or cut( if this were the NFL) when the talent starts pouring in.. I think he gonna be perfect because we don't need his 15-20 shots to win.. We need him during crunch time via FT shooting and ballhandling more than ever before now.. That's the issue.. Can he play his role while still helping Reed become a professional
I think it is obvious they are going to extend him, but DD is claiming they are going to pay him enough to put us in the 2nd apron which I find ridiculous. Stone didn’t work this hard to give us flexibility to make trades to blow it by signing FVV to a contract that would put us over the 2nd apron. My guess is FVV at 25 aav(which is still bidding against ourselves), but will not put us over the 2nd apron especially when we dump Landale and either Tate and/or Holiday.
Surprisingly 2k accepted my Green, brooks, 2025 #9 for KD trade but I noticed it’s starting with Amen / Whitemore as the backcourt with Fred on the bench when I look at the coaches auto line up AI telling us something
The Rockets only have early Bird rights to FVV and a team ready to compete that needs a PG. Every bit of leverage the Rockets have over FVV, FVV has over the Rockets. Granted, FVV and Rockets likely worked cooperatively insuring that Rockets get every thing they want in year three and FVV gets paid as much as they can pay him without harming the roster. Rockets want flexibility to make team even better. Extending him is stupid.
I could see us starting Whitmore at SG and making decisions after 30 or so games on if we need to make a trade.

Do you think they pick up his team option? That would put us over the 2nd apron, correct? I’m still confused on the 1st and 2nd apron amounts. If we did except the team option, it would make us ineligible for making an aggregated trade at the deadline, correct?
When Rockets front office says they have a big plan for Reed next season they really mean that. They said Adam will be huge for Rockets next season and he was. I have huge suspicion that Cam and Reed got value tanked to keep them off the table purposely while keeping Jalen’s value somewhat higher. I guess it worked because we were able to get off on his contract and got KD in returned
Brah - KD did everything possible to get away from Russ. Also Ime would bench him after 5 minutes on the court for not defending… and I don’t need to see a middle aged man (Udoka) stomping another middle aged man (Russ) in the locker room after the game while another middle aged man (Durant) looks on.
More than a SG, we need someone that can consistently beat his man off the dribble and finish at the rim or pass out to the wings. DD
